Comfortable room, good food in a clearly popular pub which was nevertheless quiet enough to be able to hold a conversation over dinner. Breakfast was superb. Don't be put off by the proximity to the road; admittedly our visit wasn't at the height of holiday season, but the road is not busy and we had a peaceful night. Rooms: Comfortable bed, clean, good size.
Wow. What an absolutely lovely little gem of a place. Beauty country views , lovely atmosphere , very polite staff and the food was excellent. Served piping hot, very tasty and no waiting around. It’s best to book over the weekend. Excepting cleanliness in the whole pub including the toilet. Can’t wait to go there in the summer and sit outside in the very large and well placed garden area.
First visit room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Staff all friendly and helpful. Had an evening meal which was very good quick service and good quality food. Breakfast had good choice of items and again quick service. Will definitely return when I can for another stay over.Rooms: 5/5
We celebrated my Dear mums life at the beautiful Pub. From the get go the landlord was supportive, helpful and kind. On the day the food was superb , the staff were first class and the actually venue couldn’t be better x thank you to all staff for making such an important time so special.
Went here for the first time last night after searching for a new food place to try and it was great! Food was delicious. Service was good so will definitely be returning thank you Food & drinks: Delicious home cooked food
Delicious Sunday lunch in a picturesque village with ample car parking. Food cooked to perfection. You must try it. It is warm and welcoming especially for families ....Service: 5/5
Stood at the bar for 5 minutes, waiting to be acknowledged, was completely ignored so we left. It was not busy so can't blame that. Not impressed. In response to the owner, we time checked it and it was 5 minutes not 2. You did acknowledge me with a nod of your head. However your bar staff ignored us and the 2nd time you walked past us, you ignored us. I'm not sure of your definition of busy but I disagree. There were empty tables and a basically empty bar. Please do not accuse me of fibbing.
Lovely pub but not too impressed by the management or customerservice. Went for a drink post Christmas and to round off a walk and told, in a not very Customer friendly way, there were no tables available..... we explained we just wanted a drink and would only be 30 minutes but the stance on yhe matter was clear... I quote the owner "i keep telling people there are no tables". At the time there were at least 8 empty tables and by and large they were still free 1 hour later when we left, including a 10 seater table which would have been perfect for our group. We will return as the pub is lovely and in a great location but not impressed by the service.
Great place to stay either as a base or stopover to continue your journey. Staff were attentive and polite ,food was amazing and ambiance cozy.
Excellent country pub, short but good menu, good beer it is Hall and Woodhouse after all, and friendly and helpful staff.Service: 5/5
