Lovely place and very nice staff. Like a lot of places they're obviously having to tackle major issues caused by the Covid pandemic and the subsequent fall out. But they're also, clearly, trying their hardest to continue to offer a first class service to their paying customers and are are doing so. The room was excellent, as was the breakfast. The bar service was also of a very high standard and the evening meals on offer there were plentiful, tasty and very good value for money. I'd thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone. Rooms: The hotel is old and so the rooms are much larger than the modern 'boxes' which are so prevalent. But that means you have space to yourself which is refreshing and very enjoyable. The price I was charged represents very good value for money. Safety: The wide and spacious layout of this hotel means that you can move freely about the place without fear or hindrance.
Popped in for lunch. Many years since we last visited. Restaurant/Bar area was clean and tidy. Staff were in abundance and very good. My fish and chips was excellent. Wife's soup very good. Reasonable prices. Would be happy to go back.Rooms: 1/5
Stayed for 2 nights late February, wonderful location and stunning views. The building and grounds themselves could do with some love, but it is still the end of winter so I imagine during peak season the decoration would be improved. Cannot fault the wonderful staff, each and every person has greeted us pleasantly, ensured we are having a good time, and the meals have been cooked to perfection. Excellent stay all round 8
Enjoyable dinner, bed & breakfast. Great service, restaurant staff first class both in the evening & morning. Room was spacious, clean & tidy, could do with some updates but noticed there was refurbishment in process in other areas of the hotel. I would certainly recommend and will return in the future.Rooms: 3/5
Room very dated and cold, also placement of the TV and kettle requires a rethink. Needed to leave the additional electric heater on all evening. Food menu, normal pub grub and a good selection of local beer and gin in the bar. Music venue at Backstage was our reason for staying, and the hotel must really benefit from the live music on site.
My experience of The Green is from being a local and handy venue for coffee and catching up with friends. Good parking, choice of seating from the relaxing lounge, comfortable bar or the more open reception area. Disabled parking has 2 spaces, also, 2 x electric car charging points are available. Staff are welcoming, accommodating and friendly. Coffees come with a welcome shortbread biscuit, lovely.
We decided to stay for one night at The Green Hotel purely because we were attending a gig at the hotel. The room we had was appalling. It was out dated, not particularly clean and extremely shabby. We had to boil the kettle on the floor as there was only 2 accessible sockets in the room, both at near floor level. There was a hair in the bath and skid marks had been left in the toilet. The reception staff on our departure were as about as miserable as the waitress at breakfast. Will never book a room there again, ever. Definitely the worst hotels I've ever stayed at.
Shabby, dated rooms and hallway. The TV was placed right across the dressing table blocking the mirror rather than being wall mounted - weird. Breakfast service was slow and the grumpy waitress tried to argue with us when she brought out the wrong order. Also had to discreetly tell another young waitress very friendly that the bread provided for the buffet self-service was mouldy and to take it away before guests consumed it. Not good.
On entering the hotel you are greeted with a warm welcome and a smile, details are taken quickly and professionally, and once you have your room key the layout of the hotel is explained well. You are informed about the meal times and where local facilities are .all in all a lovely stay. Nearby activities: There are 2 x 18-hole golf courses directly opposite, so not far to carry your clubs, Loch Leven is on the door step aswell
Hotel was dated but renovations going on. Large room, very clean . Food was very nice . Everything was good till breakfast , put our order in for hot food waited 30 minutes before getting served while 3 other tables got served after we put order in . Wonder how long we would have waited if we didn't say to waitress .Rooms: 4/5
