Absolute disgrace. If I could put 0 stars I would. I placed an online order at 5:30pm. At 8:30pm I rang up for the third time to be told that my food was out for delivery. At 9pm I still hadn’t received my food. I rang for the fourth time to then be told that my order hadn’t actually gone through, despite my confirmation email and that it hadn’t yet been cooked. Finally at close to 10pm I received my food which was cold, greasy and not very nice at all. I will never use this takeaway again. Disgraceful
Abysmal. Disgusting. Fraudulent. This is my first Just Eat review in many years of using the app. Sheer frustration has compelled me to warn others not to make the mistake we made - DO NOT ORDER FROM GREEN CHILLI. we ordered at 7:15pm and I sit here at 10:00pm and still have not received the delivery despite numerous promises. You get to a point where you have to have dinner and get on with your night. AVOID.
Ordered through just eat, waiting 45mins after expected delivery, they said it would be 15mins but meal never arrived, no apology, no food, no answer on phone. Edit.... Food just arrived at 9.30pm 3 hours after it was ordered!! Sent it back as we ordered a pizza instead.
Indian takeaway with free parking on road outside. Lovely waiting area with a couple of couches and magazines for your perusal. Really friendly and helpful staff who were knowledgeable about the menu dishes I arrived just after 7pm on a Saturday night and waited just over 10 minutes for my food to be freshly prepared. I ordered the set menu for one with chicken dansak which cost £9.50. Arrived home and decanted the meal from the paper bag and aluminium containers so a big well done with the green credentials! The food was excellent - probably the best dansak I have tasted this side of the Black Country. The rice was succulent and the mint sauce was exceptional and really refreshing. The pompadom was crispy without being greasy and the onion bhaji delicious especially when dipped in the Bombay potatoes sauce. I would recommend this Indian takeaway as one of the best in Devon. It also has a 5 star hygiene rating . Please like my review if it has been of use to you - thanks
Not a lot of flavour to our main dishes, quite disappointing. Food was hot though and ready quickly, poppadoms were lovely, egg rice and pilau rice was nice too....but both our lamb balti and chicken garlic balti were without much flavour apart from tomato
I was to wait 1 hour 20 minutes for my order then the I opened the bag to be greeted by a side called fresh salad as you can see. Fair to say what happened with the rest of the order if they can deliver this salad from any kitchen I know I ain’t going to eat any food from tgere
Absolutely disgusting, ordered a prawn masala and chips, worst thing ever, had 3 prawns and was bright red and tasted of pure coconut, chips were shrivelled up French fries, this cost me £11, this was the last place in Plainmoor to get a decent takeaway what the hell happened, looks like just eat is the only place to go now and play the lucky dip take away lottery
Summary: ordered a takeaway and the delivered food was very nice, but it was a long wait late, our order was incomplete, and they refused to refund this mistake. Positives: Telephone service: the person taking the order was polite and took the order down correctly according to the receipt we got. Food quality: really nice. Everything we received was well cooked, it had very nice flavour and didn’t blend into one big slop like what can happen with food from lesser quality Indian restaurants. However, one thing to note is that it looks like paneer dishes do not actually use real paneer but a cheese that instead looked and tasted like mild cheddar. Real paneer is a hard cheese that does not melt and is usually cut into cubes in these sorts of dishes. That being said, whilst we like real paneer in these dishes, the choice of the restaurant to use a different cheese that melts may be for a number of different reasons. Negatives: Delivery time: we understand that there can be busy periods for any restaurant. However, we were given an estimated delivery time of an hour and the food was around 40 minutes late. We called and were informed that the driver was on the way, so appreciate that our expectations were managed, but a delivery arriving that late past the estimate still leaves a bad feeling. Order: as mentioned, the food we had delivered was nice, but the restaurant had missed out one dish. Upon realising whilst dishing the food out we called immediately to notify the restaurant and were given two options - either have the missing dish sent to us which we were told would’ve taken 30-40 minutes not much point as everything else would’ve gone cold waiting for it, or be given credit that can be used for a dish on our next order. Refund policy: We asked for a refund for the mistake to our order, but were told we couldn’t have one and couldn’t only choose one of the two options mentioned above. This is extremely unreasonable, if we ordered something, paid for it, and did not receive it, then we have the right to ask for a refund. I am very sure that refusing a refund in this situation is a breach / contravention of our statutory consumer rights i.e. entitlement to a refund of an agreed service / goods if they are not provided. Other customers should take note of this policy should a mistake be made on their order as they should definitely be entitled to a refund.
I was going to write a bad review but they redeemed themselves by their excellent curry dishes. Unfortunately, delivery was very slow and the driver was unapologetic which I found very rude. It was the first time we ordered from Green Chilies but the bad reviews, particularly the slow service, make us nervous to buy from them again. Its a shame as the food was delicious
Really looking forward to a takeaway from green chillies after so many recommendations but was extremely disappointed… Ordered a chicken tikka masala which was nothing like authentic or non authentic dish, was overly sweet and frankly not enjoyable atall. Partner ordered a Pasanda which was overly sweet, and the difference between our meals was the pasanda was slightly fragrant. Very disappointed.
