I never forget the time I came here and the lift was working on one side of the platform, but the lift across the bridge didn't work. And the toilets were closed so you had to go outside the station to some portaloos. And all the non-access portaloos were closed, so the only one available was the access portaloo, and there was a queue and nearly missed my train. Gods help you if you have access requirements at most rural stations in this country :/
I arrived on a late train from kings cross, needed the loo, the temporary toilets were locked. I spoke with staff in the office, who just said they are closed, they had zero sympathy, I ended stopping in a lay-by!!! On my way home!!!nThe station toilets are being renovated, how long does this take!! Absolutely shocking the amount of time this is taking, I've seen houses being built quicker on my weekly journey to the train station, sad thing is, I'm not even joking.nOther than this one incident, staff have always been great.
Beware of anpr for parking especially if you are disabled. Signs very unclear and only at station entrance so if you have to wait because of delayed train they will send a £60 penalty charge through. Anything over 20 mins even in disabled space.
Staff are very helpful here. But their ability to help is limited because our train system is broken. Trains are cancelled, and yet you still can't use your ticket on a different service. I have been told I need to cancel a Hull Trains ticket and buy a whole new LNER ticket, which would be prohibitively expense. It's ridiculous.
