My mum sisters and I arrived on Saturday for afternoon tea in the hotel and from entering the hotel the reception we got was absolutely amazing. I felt like a celebrity. The treatment was absolutely first class and everyone was absolutely amazing. First time here and I will definitely be back to stay hopefully as it's absolutely breathtaking.thank u to all the staff
What an awful experience we had when we took visiting friends for drinks on the top floor bar. Very rude member of staff on probation and was simply awful when we asked to have our expensive wine replaced due to the glasses not being polished and one had lipstick on it. Asked for the managed but only a young supervisor left in charge. Despite customers being outnumbered by staff they still failed to rectify our simple but polite request for clean glasses and replacement wine. At this point nobody had drunk a drop of drink and after 10 minutes of waiting we got up to leave. The supervisor came over and offered us a bottle of wine for free, but it wasn't about getting free drinks it was about service and experience being ruined by such a rude member of staff that quite simply should be sacked. We went to the concierge and complained about what had happened and at the same time the supervisor had come down to inform the manager of the rudeness of the staff member and the awful experience we encountered. I left full contact details for the manager to get in contact and to date 8 days later I have received no contact either by phone, email or letter. Seriously how can you possibly be 5 star with this level of service and response. Perhaps sending your staff to somewhere like the Merchant Hotel may be beneficial for staff training and service. I would also question why nobody has even bothered to contact us 8 days later. Seriously up your game before you lose your 5 star rating.
Beautiful hotel and from the higher rooms a great view of the city.nFor an expensive and highly rated hotel there were details that could be pushed to a higher standard, found blood on one of the towels, the bed was made a little haphazardly and the TV remote was missing the back so the batteries kept falling out.nnOn the other hand the bathroom products were good quality and there was plenty of teas and coffees to choose from.nnThe lighting and facilities in the room are good although the standing lamp wasn't working.nI was upgraded quickly after my door lock wasn't working in the first room so the customer service is very good and I loved the view from the room I stayed in as well as having a bath.nnBreakfast is fantastic, so much to choose from including cooked breakfast, pancakes, smoothies, fruit salad and more.
The Grand Central Hotel has been a delight. From the time of check to the time of checkout.nEveryone is friendly at the hotel from the General Manager, Restaurant Managers, servers, front desk, concierge and maids. Whatever you need, they bring to you right away. Whatever allergies you have, the restaurants work with you. Concierge goes above and beyond with tours and directions. Maid service is excellent. Front desk is very helpful. Waiters and waitresses are at your beck and call. A great 5 star hotel which is centrally located in downtown area of Belfast. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious with great views. The 23rd Observatory Bar is a good stop for a drink. Great views of Belfast. Most of the staff will escort you around the hotel and the General Manager is always around to make sure your stay is smooth and comfortable. This hotel treats everyone equal with patience. Excellent stay.
Had a lovely few hours in The Observatory, served by Eliza and couldn't have been more attentive. Bar snacks were great, nice festive options, very pleased with atmosphere.
