My wife and I visited yesterday afternoon and enjoyed a lovely meal in a very pleasant relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly, the restaurant and toilets were immaculately clean and the food was excellent. We brought home some delicious cakes from the farm shop for a family treat. Top mark's! And to know that the profits are going to such a good cause is a bonus. May God bless you all and continue to provide all that you need.
Let down by front of house. After going to the plant sale we had a bite to eat in the always busy restaurant. The bearded guy with glasses on front of house did not look up from his screen to acknowledge us and left us waiting for an awkward length of time. All it would take is a 'I'll just be a minute' or 'Please bear with me'. He had a very miserable and superior demeanour which continued throughout our stay we were sat next to him. I commented 'Service with smile'. He did the same with everyone else. They arrived smiling and I could see their smile gradually fade as he looked at his screen and didn't make eye contact. The food was OK, large portion for sandwich and chips, but nothing extraordinary. It's a shame to mark down the service as the waiters were the opposite, smiling, attentive, warm. We changed our mind and decided not to buy from the shop after the experience we had. Change front of house and get someone who does customer service.
Cragg Farm is staffed by the best sort of people you could wish to meet. It is a charity and the plants, compost, food & service are first rate. Stay a while and enjoy the ambience. I have visited several times and everyone has been really friendly; no one is in a hurry - it's a stress-free place. The dining areas are light and airy, filled with the gentle hubbub of contented diners. Book your breakfast, brunch, lunch, or afternoon tea, arrive and relax. Alternatively, have tea, coffee, sandwiches, or ice cream from the take away bar and eat it outside at the picnic tables on a sunny day. Overcast or too cool for you? Enjoy your snacks at the tables in the garden centre greenhouse amongst the greenery. What's not to like? I love it and hope that you do, too. Parking: Easy
This was my first visit with my husband and son who lives locally and recommended we visit. The restaurant was very busy but service was first class. Food was delicious, great quality and very reasonable prices. We also visited the shop and plant centre. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely call again Parking: Reasonable amount of spaces although at busy time can be limited
You should make a reservation it is full everyday. Food is great I ate Ham and Cheese with egg in it drank a pot of tea. There is a farm shop I bought Scotch eggs and pork pie farm shop was great alsoFood: 5/5
Wow , just had an amazing all day breakfast. I love going out for brunch, and this is definitely one of the best,if not the best. Lovely staff and definitely worth a visit. Thankyou guys, and we will be back. XFood: 5/5
Very nice brunch today, staff very attentive without being intrusive, food delicious. My first visit and will definitely be back. The young lady with the braided hair/pink hair beads was very warm and welcoming.Food: 5/5
You need to book for weekend and holidays. Excellent all round service which is popular to all, elderly, young families and older families, singles and couples. Great little artisan food shop and gift shop. Ice cream and snacks and takeaway coffees in next building. Pleasent landscaped walks in the grounds abd a great green house with very well cared for plants and products. Plenty of parking and accessible for disabled. We'll worth a visit. Dietary restrictions: Just ask. Very helpful staff they want you to make return visits. Wheelchair accessibility: Fkat access to all buildings. Lanscaped walks are wheelchair friendly but it is a bit up and down.
It is very easy to get to and park , the paths were flat has I did take an elderly person so was nice for her to walk , Vegetarian options: A reasonable choice
Pass this place often and today decided to call in . Pleasantly surprised by the long driveway and hedged roadside !! Saw a car park on the left and drove in . There were several disabled parking bays . I noticed too that there were cars parked nearer the buildings and due to showery on off weather ventured down the narrow track . Whilst it s true there are a further 3 disabled bays outside the building space is a bit tight . It leads to the farm so you have to turn around here and space is a little limited for a small minibus! However I got in and was able to unload out of the back of my vehicle . There has been a lot of changes since I last came here !! I saw that there was now a cafe as well as a restaurant on site . I only really wanted a tea and a look see so went into the cafe . The door is wide enough for a wheelchair but is not automatically opened .Once inside there was space down the centre for me and this led to a small annexe with glass walls with a view onto a central courtyard. There were a few tables in there and room for my chair . It’s clean modern and the cake was lovely . Great place I have found if not requiring the restaurant itself .
