Animals look good there, hence 3 stars except markings, tags, and holes in their ears for some reason. It makes me think, do you sell them for meat after they get too old? If this is an educational place, can we get them off these animals?nWhen kids ask, did this hurt them - I answered, of course it did.nI'd rather encourage kids to learn how to care for animals and how important they are.nAlso, if this is charity, it would be a real opportunity for adding a few residents like animal sanctuary have, where at least few can enjoy a happy life saved from bad experiences.nThis would definitely make a more interesting choice for donations.
Took our granddaughter, who loved feeding the goats and sheep. Paid an extra £2 for her to stroke a rabbit and handle a duckling. Very few animals to see so good for a quick visit. Playground for younger children and café - check for opening hours. More activities during Leicester school holidays.
We went for afternoon tea with friends. It was a lovely afternoon. The tea was delicious with sandwiches and scones with cream. The children liked seeing all the animals and we had a nice walk around finishing at the play area. A great afternoon
Lovely local setting. Decent entrance price - 1 adult, 2 children, with a small bag each of animal feed was about £16. Quite a few different animals including pigs, llamas, goats, guinea pigs, ponies, rabbits, etc. Has a fun pretend milking cow that squirts water into a bucket. Cafe is a little expensive Vs quality but okay. Also has a small but fun play area. Good for a couple of hours or so.
Wanted to share some information to manage expectations:nOverall our party had a great time. If this wasn't a charity, I am not sure if customers would be as tolerable with the service.nAlpaca session: Nobody was present to take this. Session was double booked. Didn't go ahead as advertised as they weren't tame enough. Confused why wellies count but not hiking boots.nSmall animals session: We were able to hold two rabbits and learn about the small animals - the other small animals were not about to be held due to stress or not being tame enough.nBooking information lost: Our party and at least another customer on the day had their booking details lost. I contacted the farm through email, phone and social media ahead of the visit to confirm the booking but no-one got back to me.nCustomer service: Reception were welcoming. There was a very commercially focused permanent member of staff that assisted us on the day - we were unable to attend the Alpaca session so arrangements were made for a small animal session - this made our visit 5/5 and she definitely deserves recognition.nAnimal feeding: Only the goats were interactive and able to be fed - definitely worth getting a bag of feed still.nParking: Footpath leading up to the farm looks narrow but cars can still go up it.
