Gordons just completed my remortgage + transfer of equity. I thought they did a great job. The cost was significantly lower than other quotes I received, and I found them to be very responsive and available for questions/communication. Overall great
We recently completed our sale and purchase with Gordons. Communication and speed of processing was so quick compared to our previous experiences. I would like to say a personal thanks to Gemma who really owned the whole process for us, she was really clear with what we needed to do and when and supported us to get things moving when we came across different issues along the chain.
Do not use. Wasted 8 weeks trying to sort a mortgage. You can't get through on the phone. All done by messaging which is delayed. The checking of funds was complete overkill which dragged the process on and on. Even the agent who deals with hundreds of mortgages every month said they were sorry for the way this was handled and unlike any they have experienced prior. We had to abort the mortgage process in the end.
My staircasing with remortgage have been with them over 3 months. Mortgage has been completed but staircasing is still on going. You know what??? I have been paying mortgage & monthly rent to L&Q as Gordons forgot to start staircasing before finalising my remortage. They are making me big losses financially but don't want to take any responsibility whatsoever. Staircasing is still with them, so I can stop at this poin nut I feel not optimistic that this will end either. Worst service ever.
I am very impressed with the efficiency of this firm and the clarity of their communications. I have recommended them to family members. Gordons use Thirdfort to check you are who you say you are, which was a very thorough and reassuring process. I would actually describe this firm as ‘turbo boosted efficient’…
My remortgage has taken an eternity due to the lack of clarification from the staff at Gordon Property Lawyers. They are fantastic at sending single sentence messages without any guidance or assistance. I would not use them again nor recommend them.
Really bad experience which is still on going. The problem with this outfit is you cannot speak to the case handler so all communication is through reception, this has caused me huge problems with incorrect information being given to me. The upshot is a very slow transaction and I am now going to be paying my higher rate mortgage for another month which will cost me 600 pounds. This was a free service through nat west and i dearly wish I had got my normal conveyencor to deal with the matter and paid for it to be done properly.
Would not recommend for residential conveyancing. They call themselves 'lawyers' but most casehandlers are not legally qualified, not even graduates and have poor English skills as reflected in their emails. My casehandler was totally dictated to by the buyers' solicitor who often relayed unreasonable demands from her clients, such suggesting completion in a week when I had not found a place! I had to chase third parties for reports myself. I reminded Gordons that I was their client and not the buyers, and that they had a duty to act in my best interests, not theirs, but this professional duty did not register with them.
I am currently dealing with Gordon Property Lawyers, the worst customer service ever, how did they get excellent reveiws. I can't seem to speak with the person handling my case, constantly being fobbed off. They cant seem to get anything correct. Unbelievable. Do not use them.
These are hands down the worst apparent 'property lawyers' I have ever had to deal with and I have been an estate agent. They are so rude, unprofessional and have no idea what they are doing. The process is ridiculous, I have never dealt with a re-mortgage like it and above all of that, it took WEEKS for a simple re-mortgage. Painful. Avoid if you can.
