Stayed for an evening at the end of June. Very impressed. Staff were lovely and very helpful organising taxis to and from our dinner reservation. Rooms are beautiful and spacious with great facilities. Bars are comfortable with good range of cocktails. Breakfast is good - one minor gripe may be a slightly smaller range of breakfast options but that is splitting hairs. Definitely planning to return and have dinner in the hotel as it looked fantastic.
What a change in attitude this manager has had in the Restaurant. As a caravan owner on the site I was so shocked when we went down on Saturday 2nd November at 5pm. The restaurant had 4 people in it all the staff I’d say around 6 of them standing at the door of the entrance talking between themselves not even a hello or a smile. Came in from a cold evening with 3 young cold children to get a bite to eat before going back to the caravan. As I approached the “manager” to ask for a table I got “before you even ask no we don’t have any tables” I said that’s ok could we maybe sit in the snug area which was empty again to another straight smart answer of “no as I said we don’t have any tables” with a smirk on her face! we had been told about the attitude of this person from other family’s in the caravan park which are all very annoyed. We didn’t believe them until we got the same on Saturday. We then got told to go and find a table in the bar and order a chippy which we actually didn’t mind at all. It was more the fact we had been in the bar for around 1.5hrs eating and talking we wanted to wait as long as we could to see the restaurant getting “busy” so leaving the bar for around 6:30pm we happened to notice everyone still standing in the same area with about 12 tables still spare. I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes when I seen that no one was in the Restaurant and the snug area hadn’t 1 person in it! It wasn’t that long ago I had been enjoying a meal here with just 1 other friend and the atmosphere in that restaurant was terrible as it was so quiet and no one else in it either, but the bar area was packed with people eating chippys. I did notice one thing this manager has no want or liking to children eating in the restaurant end off! And this is not aimed at any other members of staff but the “manager” as we had some lovely young people serve us drinks and food in the present times we visitednnThe next day we had been speaking to friends which in total is around 5 separate caravan owners and they all said they will never darken the door of Kelly’s entertainment complex or be ordering food with them ever again and with the attitude they received they will never recommend to anyone. In utter shock no wonder every weekend we pass it’s dead. Not be long to this is another restaurant shutting its doors by the looks of things. As a business owner myself I wouldn’t be letting another person ruin the reputation of a once great complex like Kelly’s.
Fantastic experience at The White Pheasant - lovely staff & delicious food: lobster special was exquisitennOn delivering my nightcap my waiter spilt a few drops on the table; he returned with wipes for the table AND a generous top up; truly exceptional servicennI cannot recommend this place more highly !
This was our birthday weekend and Golflinks did not disappoint. Excellent location, staff and food. There is something for everybody here. We will definitely be back soon.
Service was great, but was let down by very cramped bedroom and strange bathroom set up.nLots of corridor noise heard in bedrooms until 11pm or later so the sound insulation could be improved.
