My dog needed an emergency appointment, they accepted me out of hours and managed to surgery in the night. Every person we have met in the 4 visits have been exceptional. Lovely caring staff, great care. A little more expensive than our normal practice but understand why. Pay for what you get. I highly recommend them.
I can not recommend this vets practice enough. Rory on reception, who has exceptional people and animal skills is outstanding and ensures both pets and owners are made to feel welcome, he is a credit to this practice. Also Abbie and Alonzo are in my opinion, the best Vets in the country. I would go as far to say they are magical as they have saved my dogs life on more than one occasion and the passion they have for animals to ensure they get first class treatment is outstanding. I highly recommend this practice and all of the staff who work there.
We took our boy Marley in Wednesday as he suddenly took a very bad turn. It wasn’t the outcome we expected or ever wanted and had to leave without him, but the vet Katherine Phillips made everything much easier and we couldn’t have had asked for a kinder or more patient vet, for Marley to have his last moments with and we really appreciate it. We sadly said goodbye to our beloved dog of 15 years here. The staff were really lovely and empathetic, especially Alonso who tried to save her and did everything he could. However the vet that euthanised my baby could have shown more compassion, we were given 10 minutes to say bye to her before the injection was used and in those minutes he was trying to up sell the vet clinics cremation services even though we already said we know where we are taking her. Those minutes were so valuable for us and not the right time to be doing that. Also he said he would give us 5 more minutes and within a few seconds returned and injected her. I don’t want this to be a dig at the clinic as the staff were lovely and helpful and I appreciate their support in such a difficult time.
I took my cat here after hours because it appeared he had ingested something poisonous and was foaming at the mouth. They took my cat in straight away then began taking my details. After taking my details she gave me a bill of £1600 at this point they only sedated my cat and inserted a tube I queried as to why it was so high and that I could not afford it. I paid a £300 deposit. Before querying the bill they advised me that the cat is breathing normal and that they are just trying to remove the blood from his passage. After expressing that I would not be able to afford £1600 I get a call to say my beautiful Persian had died. My instincts tell me they didn’t bother trying to save my cat because it meant they wouldn’t make maximum profits. After calling to say my cat had died she told me I had to go in and settle the bill. I am heartbroken and would strongly Avoiding like a plague.
Have used Goddards the entire time we have had dogs. From our first boy Azumar over 21 years ago. They saw him through many minor ailments, Cruciate ligament surgery and the end of his time with us at home with dignity and little stress. A wonderful Irish vet from Sneem and a just lovely vetrinary nurse. Both so compassionate. It made our goodbyes so much more bearable. Our second boy Remy has also had such great care from them. Suspected ED and speedy referral to an Orthopaedic Specialist i could not recommend highly enough in Hamiltons. The outcome for Remy has been really positive and at nearly 9yrs old he is doing really well and on no pain relief. He had an emergency eye removal 8 yrs ago on Christmas Eve and they could not have been more efficient or compassionate or done more to save his eye. He has had multiple surgeries here and the pre and post op processes have always been exemplary. They are incredibly understanding. When i was more than a bit neurotic about having a lump removed from Remy's only eye they ensured we had a surgeon who had carried out that particular surgery many times and arranged a call with him so i could discuss my concerns. I really appreciated that. They are more expensive as they are an emergency hospital with highly qualified staff and equipment, but if that is what you need this is the place.
The vet are not really geared up to handle emergencies. We arrived with our cat on our allotted time and team were overwhelmed by existing cases. The person behind reception who was fairly abrupt indicated we may have to wait an extra hour. It would have better if the vet let us know before we set off.
Brought in an injured bird, pigeon to be exact. Unfortunately even though the bird was suffering they refused to take it, but did provide me with numbers I can call. The fact that they showed no compassion for an injured animal or even check it before letting me take it somewhere else as an animal lover truly felt disappointed. I hope in the future they will change there policy in taking injured wild life. At least provide some interim treatment.
very rude staff! i called them as my kitten is very sick and she needs to be seen immediately, and i understand that it’s Christmas, but the person talking to me told me that since i’m not registered with them, they can’t see me. the vet i’m registered with is closed, so i have to let my 5 month old cat suffer for 2 more days? horrible. the person was so rude and she just hung up on me. such disgusting attitude, no respect.
