Food at Glendoick is always lovely. Lots of choice. Slightly more expensive than I’d expect for the portion sizes, which can be small. It is still table service, but you have to go and look to see selection of cakes before ordering which is a little difficult to do. However, the cakes are delicious. I had the mocha slice and it really was to die for. Love the soft play for the children, however it can be hard to be served in there unless you order immediately. There also isn’t very much space, which can be frustrating when there are a few buggies and children needing high chairs. It can feel like a bit of a squeeze. Staff always friendly and happy to help. Overall we do enjoy it here, have a nice meal and it’s lovely to have a wander around the Garden Centre itself. Would recommend
Had a lovely lunch here on the way back home. Gordon who served us was lovely, really friendly and helpful. I had the special lamb kebab which was delicious. Hearty recommend! The garden centre also makes an effort with environmental concerns, encouraging tap water and providing environmentally conscious bags. Also excellent range of cat toys!
The garden centre itself is lovely. Lots of Christmas bits and pieces. We ate there fir the first time. Hubby's breakfast was lovely. I had eggs benidick with salmon on gluten free bread. The eggs were h Cooked for too long, hard. The waitress was lovely and took £2.50 off my total. The bread was so hard I cut the roof of my mouth. I wasn't happy.
Lovely garden centre with so much more. Lots of unusual gifts and home accessories and a lovely food and cafe area too. Great stop-off when driving back from Glasgow to Aberdeen!
Visited the Glendoick Garden Centre for my youngest son's first Christmas to meet Santa. I have to say, this place is a little gem in the midst with how they transform for Christmas and I would love to see them get behind other annual events like this - Easter, Halloween etc. We stopped for some food at the cafe and were accommodated with a pram quickly. The food was simple and good, which is ideal for the time of day and type of meal you are trying to fulfill. If you haven't visited this Christmas, I highly suggest you do.
Christmas Display is fantastic very magical with lots of different areas to explore with lots of different things to purchase. Gift section has always got so much choice. Had coffee and cake in tearoom excellent service but it's a bit above normal tearoom garden centre prices.
Certainly a very big garden centre with a huge selection of plants and everything else you would expect from a garden centre, plus more. We actually only stopped there for a coffee as a lovely little coffee shop along the road was closed but these Covid restrictions are now starting to get really annoying. We queued up at the restaurant and asked for a coffee and cake only to be told we couldn't order until we found a table number. So after looking around at the empty tables outside in the sun we went back to the counter only to be told we now had to queue up again !!! That is not acceptable !! We did queue up again behind 4 new people in the queue. Eventually we ordered and were told to go and sit at our table. About 10mins later our order came out but the person obviously didn't know where our table was so we had to call him over to our table. The staff in the garden centre section were very friendly and helpful after our coffee and cake, shame the restaurant staff haven't had the same training !
What an amazing place. We visited today as a family with grandchildren to see the Christmas display and the kids loved it. We then went for lunch in the cafe, food and service were excellent. Our only complaint if you can call it that was that the child's portions were huge and not as advertised on menu and made it difficult for a one yea to eat. The meal was advertised as goujons when in fact it came as a whole half size of fish which the waiter said it was this was very difficult for grandchild to eat. However this little blip will not keep us away and us adults fully enjoyed our lunch.
First time visit for me today. The garden centre was very busy. All areas I visited were clean and tidy. Staff friendly and helpful. I had no idea Glendoick carried such a huge range! Food, clothing, homeware, art to name a few and of course plants. Masses of Christmas stock. I will make sure I have more time when I'm there again.
Fantastic range of just about everything for Christmas with very competitive prices. Excellent restaurant with very friendly and efficient staff: great range of food too. Well worth a visit.
