A nice place for an afternoon stroll. I definitely recommend the free tour... it is highly informative, interesting and amusing! At least the young guy with a long beard who lead my tour was! It made the entrance fee worthwhile, doing that. Trying to imagine the scale of the place.... it must've been huge!

Actually a favorite place with our family. The evening music events are well worth going to. The Summer Extravaganza and Night in the Abbey always excellent. Picnics and walks around this historic abbey ruins, get lost and play in this lovely arboretum park land with duck ponds and fish lakes. Look for King Arthur's Grave! Learn about life in a monastery and look out for regular art exhibitions and medieval shows. Parking in either St Johns Car park or the Abbey Car park besides town hall. Free parking for limited time in town center. Just a snack shop in the Abbey but they will happily let you take food if you are tidy. Dogs welcome.

Great place, what a piece of ancient history. The Atmosphere is fantastic at these ruins. There is a large pond with Carp in to look at also. The Glastonbury high Street is in walking distance and the Tor is also. Great place to visit to really soak up the English history. Coffee and tea shops are all near by and a gift shop

A great ( if somewhat damp!) Day - the tour guide for our "experience" was an absolute hero, dressed as she was in authentic (ish) period clothing, replete with bluish extremities. A few simple words from the right quarter can bring the entire place back to life! The small but beautifully formed museum was one of the best I have come across, and we spent several hours engrossed in the beautifully detailed exhibits, both before and after our tour. Be prepared to spend a full afternoon at this delightful Abbey. It fully deserves your attention.

Very spiritual. Even if you're not. Beautiful place. Reception staff are just lovely! Very quiet inside the walls. You forget you're in the middle of a busy town. Would have liked to have spent more time here, but itinerary wouldn't allow. King Arthur is supposedly buried here(but I'm Welsh.. so I disagree!!).
