Story

Fine arts printmaking is a creative activity that can be enjoyed by all and Glasgow Print Studio provides opportunities for everyone to experience, enjoy, learn and develop skills in the art of printmaking.

Glasgow Print Studio was founded in 1972 to provide facilities and workshop space for printmakers. Now, as an internationally acclaimed centre of excellence in fine art printmaking, it promotes contemporary and innovative printmaking through practice, development, exhibition, learning and conservation.

Glasgow Print Studio is the longest standing tenant of the building that is now Trongate 103, having moved there in 1988 and as such has a long history with the project. Trongate 103 presents Glasgow Print Studio with vastly enhanced facilities over 3 floors, with retail gallery at ground floor leading up into the first floor main gallery and second floor workshops.

Interesting wave length with the choice of artwork. Do I accept the curation? Artists such as Ken Currie at a nadir he is happy in. What is it communicating? Found the artwork exhibited giving out a sinister vibe. Is that what you want? Well, That’s what’s on the menu. Is my soul in a different place after seeing this? Have I been enchanted or do I want to protect my heart from darkness.
If you try to find a place to see, to buy, and get artprint related stuff this one is the only one with wide variety of style and technique of print, especially art print works. Regularly, they also have a various exhibition by artist in the modern contemporary artprint world
One of my favourite places in Glasgow over the years. It's not just a gallery space- they gave really good weekend art classes as well! I feel that many people who live in Glasgow still don't know about it, which is a shame. They have a gallery opening every first Thursday of the month and it's a good time to enjoy a complimentary drink and some jelly beans. It's also a good place for interesting and unique gifts - printed mugs and affordable prints. They feature mostly local artists and slightly more famous ones like John Byrne or Elizabeth Blackadder. These pictures are from the last opening I was at.
The Glasgow Print Studio is a little bit of magic. Spend some time there exploring the wonderful art and get to know the rich heritage of GPS. There's a current exhibition on at the Kelvingrove Museum celebrating 50 years which is worth a visit but hurry as it ends on March 12th.
Worth a visit would recommend to tourists and local people
A gallery which has had a large measure of success over many years. I visited the superb Ken Currie exhibition. There is an excellent selection of high quality prints for sale.
Great print studio! Amazing staff with a wide knowledge of printmaking. A must see in Glasgow and dare I say, the world?Wait timeNo wait
Visited to see an exhibition then browsed prints downstairs. Very pleasant space and relaxed, welcoming staff.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
I have never been in the print studios before and was highly impressed with the modernisation inside. I loved the exhibition that was on the ground floor and the lovely unique cafe. I also gathered loads of different info of what's on in Glasgow throughout May and all about the Edinburgh Festival. I didn't venture upstairs due to time constraints but I am looking forward to going back. Dxx
Thank you to James & the team always very helpful and patient when assisting with my purchases over the years , a very relaxing and enjoyable studio space for viewing exhibits
