This was the best off-site parking for Glasgow Airport, in terms of pricing, facility and convenience. Sadly, it's now permanently closed. I think the company that operated it ran into trouble with the FCA, and the site has been sold to property developers.
Booked parking for June 2020 then COVID meant a cancelled holiday, no problem they let me keep my booking for another time. Didn't use it for summer 2021 due to COVID again but booked for this year June 2022, discovered by chance Direct Parking has gone out of business and my booking for this year disappeared along with my money, spoke to someone at Holiday Extras who told me it was not a scam and they would refund my money but so far no further contact! Have had to rebook with Glasgow Airport Long Stay car park. BEWARE of this scam I would have turned up at Direct Parking at 4:00am on the morning of my departure to find a derelict site, please be warned Direct Parking no longer exists and be prepared to lose your money.
Superb service. Collected from Glasgow Airport at 03:00 as a wheelchair user plus my wife and two young children. Driver loaded all cases, ramp access onto bus, unloaded cases, assisted me to my vehicle and helped load our car with all luggage and wheelchair. Vehicle parked safe/secure, close to Airport and easy to find. 1st class, Driver an absolute star. Will definitely use again.
Perfect for Glasgow international Airport. Easy to get to. Shuttle service to the airport. Easy to use, book and pay online or by the app. Drive in, park, note your space number, walk to the bus stop at the office, report your actually there, get the shuttle bus and enjoy the holiday. More simple than that you cannot get.
First use was brilliant and we will be back. We arrived Monday morning and left Thursday afternoon. Shuttle to and from the airport took max 5 minutes. Staff very polite and premises clean and tidy. All for £22.99 which I think is a very fair price. Thank you, will be back again and happily recommend to others. Aye. Fraser, Isle of Cumbrae.
Use this fairly regularly. Parking is absolutely fine and staff are very nice. The transfers are always a pain though. They aren't long once you get going. However, it's always the same waiting around for the bus to go. Tonight, for example, we're sitting outside the terminal and it has taken 15 minutes to leave.
Taking the plane nowadays is a bit of a worry, will you have too much luggage, what if you don't get to the gate on time? The long term parking is a bit the same. Will you find them, will they get you to the terminal on time? Everything went smoothly but I was wise to get there in plenty of time - lots of walking in Glasgow, twenty minutes for security. Anyway, the parking part went well, let's see what the return journey is like...
Brilliant service. Easy to book online. You keep your keys and park your own car. The transfer bus runs every 5 mins or so and the travel time is even less. Very competitively priced too. Can’t fault it, I highly recommend it.
I booked with Direct parking once as they were the cheapest and closest to the airport. off the back of this i did not hesitate to book a space with Direct Parking when my wife and I were heading off to Thailand for 4 weeks on honeymoon. This time round they were not the cheapest option but as there was only a few quid in it and I knew how to get their and that the transfer to the airport was quick I booked anyway. As my honeymoon was not something i intended to cancel and what with weddings being expensive i opted not to add on the cancellation insurance Then as my friends and family know the day before my wedding was somewhat chaotic. A collision with a pot hole lead to a cracked sump and having to toe the car home meaning I missed the rehearsal and only just made the rehearsal dinner. I knew i would have to make alternate arrangements for getting to the airport so I called direct parking to try and cancel my booking. I explained my situation was passed around through several operators in their call center over the course of almost an hour on the phone and ultimately just got "computer says no" I sent an email to their accounts department to try and cancel as suggested by one of the operators I spoke to and received a reply saying that a refund could not be issued as I did not have cancellation insurance. The email went on to explain that cancellation insurance could be purchased on the phone or online. Which seemed odd and made it look as if it was possible to add cancellation cover to the existing booking. When i replied asking for clarification of their reply. To this query i received a snippy one line reply telling me cancellation insurance had to be purchased at the time of booking. Ultimately I left them with a 4 week booking for a space they probably were able to resell and with almost enough money to pay for the repairs to my car. Now even if they are the cheapest when i am looking for airport parking I would still book elsewhere, in fact I have since actively avoided any of the airport car parks that are operated by direct parking or their parent company
There were no problems with the outgoing trip, it was quick and hassle free. Coming back was a different matter. At the door I phoned as requested to say I was ready to be picked up and then waited at Bus Stop 5 as printed on the card they had out to all customers. I waited about 10 minutes again, no problem, not an excessive time to wait for the bus to arrive. However, when the bus arrived irritation escalated very quickly. The bus actually stopped opposite the sign for bus stop 4 although bus stop 5 was free there were in fact no other buses collecting passengers at this point meaning I had to walk 20 yards towing my luggage. Again no great hassle and not worth mentioning. However, as I brought my cases on to the bus the driver asked why I had not caught an earlier bus and saved myself ten minutes. Surprised at this I queried where this bus had been as I hadn't missed any bus at stop 5. He said it had been exactly where HIS bus was now currently parked, stop 4. I pointed this out and he said this wasn't bus top 4 it was in fact bus stop 5. I actually got out of the bus to double check and despite the door of the bus being parked opposite the bus stop 4 sign he continued to insist that he was parked at bus stop 5 and that if I had gone to the 'right' bus stop I would have been able to save myself ten minutes. Tempers rose somewhat and words not swear words although I was tempted were exchanged as I didn't like the implication that I was a fool or stupid for not standing at bus stop 4 and he was adamant that he was waiting at bus stop 5. In the end he was threatening to eject me from the bus so I shut up and smouldered in silence for the return trip. I had a word with his supervisor when we returned and she was very defensive of her driver, claiming that Davie had never had any complaints about him before. Matters were not resolved to my satisfaction and I went home. This review is being written 3 days later and I still feel that either: 1] The bus driver is in the habit of stopping at the wrong stop or the printed instructions are wrong. 2] The signs as put up by Glasgow Airport are incorrect 3] I am a fool or stupid for not knowing I was standing at the wrong stop. I will be thinking twice about using Direct Parking in any of their various guises in the future. I don't need the hassle.
