Just come back from a long weekend. A hidden gem . No crowds, staff were excellent, place was very clean and tidy. Views from the club terrace area were incredible. Beach was awesome. The caravan was very nice. Again, it was very clean and tidy. Shops about a mile away. I will be going back.
Ah, the Gimblet Rock Holiday Park—a name that evokes visions of serene coastal retreats, where one might expect the very essence of relaxation to be distilled into every amenity. Alas, my experience, though not wholly devoid of merit, was marred by a particular and rather vexing chromatic incongruity.nnUpon arrival, I was struck by the azure hue that pervades the pool, an otherwise innocuous feature that many might find entirely inoffensive, if not pleasing. However, for the discerning eye, it is precisely this overwhelming presence of cerulean that proves to be an insurmountable obstacle to full enjoyment. The blue in question is not merely a shade, but a veritable assault on the senses—an expanse of cyan so overpowering that it threatens to drown out the very essence of leisure itself.nnIndeed, one could argue that the pool, with its relentless blue, undermines the intended atmosphere of the park. Rather than a tranquil oasis, it becomes a place where one is confronted by an endless sea of blue that is as disconcerting as it is disorienting. The effect is akin to being enveloped in a monolithic monochrome, where the boundaries between water and sky, between relaxation and discomfort, blur into an indistinguishable and unsettling whole.nnThus, while the Gimblet Rock Holiday Park offers many commendable attributes—its location, for instance, is nothing short of picturesque—this particular detail left an indelible mark on my experience, one that I cannot overlook. It is with a heavy heart that I bestow upon this establishment a rating of two stars, for while it possesses the potential for greatness, it is ultimately undone by its unrelenting and unwelcome obsession with the color blue.
They have put a gate across now past the club house, you cannot drive down to go fishing at the mouth of the estury any more. Dissapointing for somone who cant walk very far
