My mother has been a resident in Gillaroo for nearly a year now and my family are very pleased with the care that mum receives. The staff are all lovely - so kind and caring and always go the extra mile. My family feel welcome when visiting mum and are regularly treated to tea and Jenny’s freshly baked treats! We visit Gillaroo every day and are very surprised to see a one star rating as we could not recommend this Care home highly enough.
My mum became a resident of Gillaroo in September 2018. Mum settled in immediately. The care she receives here is second to none. The staff are so warm and caring and nothing is to much trouble for them . There is always a lovely atmosphere as soon as you go through the front door , Family and friends are always made feel very welcome . The home is kept immaculate, and the food is first class , with the lovely smell of home baking meeting you as you come through the front door. The views are lovely , not to mention the beautiful kept gardens . Could not recommend this nursing home enough . My mum is so happy here and well looked after . Thank you Gillaroo.
The care and attention shown to my mum has been exemplary diverse with great compassion and respect. The facility is in an excellent condition and the management and administration maintain exceptionally high standards of excellence. The key praise must be given to the nursing and care team, to whom the greatest compliment I can give, is that they are like family to us and my mother. The kitchen staff are amazing serving up excellent culinary delights on a daily basis. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Gillaroo Lodge.
Myself and family cannot thank Gillaroo enough for the care and attention they gave our dear mum who passed away on the 29th November. Our mum was in 2 other care homes before we found Gillaroo. We can honestly say from the moment mum move there was the first time we all could stop worrying about her. Their care is second to none. The big difference here was it feels like a real home rather than an impersonal place to be in the last years of years of your life. The home is spotless and all home made food from scratch. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Mum was looked after and cared for beautifully. We can’t thank Gillaroo enough. All care homes should be like this. The biggest difference here is that it Is A HOME for the residents. God bless you all.
My mum moved into Gillaroo after a fall, and the staff and residents were fantastic at helping her through a distressing time for her and helping her to settle so well. Anything at all I ask of any member of staff is done with a smile and willingness to help and to make mum as comfortable as possible. They are all so caring, and make it feel like one big family. I have visited at different times of the day and always made to feel welcome, and love that Jenny knows how picky an eater mum is and comes to see if she will eat what has been made or can she get her something else. Everyone goes the extra mile and I feel happy knowing she is so well looked after. A big thankyou to Liz, Nicki and the entire team!
It’s such a worrying time when a loved one has to go to a nursing home but we needn’t have worried as the care and attention Mother receives at Gillaroo is second to none. The staff are so caring and make you feel like one big family when visiting. The food is all made from scratch in house, even the buns and cakes. We cannot praise Gillaroo and all their wonderful staff highly enough for everything they do for Mother.
My Grandmother spent her last years at Gillaroo. A wonderfully welcoming home where my Granny and us relatives became part of an extended family. The staff are caring, passionate about their job and take the time to get to know each and every resident. Gillaroo is as clean as can be and the food is delicious. I wouldnt of wanted my Granny to spend her last years in any other nursing home.
My Mother was resident in Gillaroo Lodge some years ago. Her medical condition resulted in her requiring 24 hour nursing care. She received excellent care of high quality during her time in Gillaroo, the staff gave her lots of tender loving care and always went the extra mile to ensure she was happy and settled.
My late mother in law was resident here for almost 2 years and was extremely happy there. The staff were excellent, like an extended family. The facilities were excellent and my mother in law had her own allocated carers. There were also theme days where staff organised entertainment for the residents with a variety of programmes. As this is a nursing facility the staff were very patient and caring for residents who had dementia or other illnesses. The staff took a great interest in each of their residents and were very attentive and gave us a daily updates on what sort of day my mother in law had when we went to visit. Would strongly recommend this facility.
Just wanted to say a huge thank-you to Liz and all the staff involved in making Auntie Joan's 90th Birthday so special for her to- day, especially in these challenging times. We didn't think that we would have been able to see her so it was fantastic to have a 'porch visit' set up for us. It made my day to see the smile on her face when she saw us all and what a lovely surprise to have tea and delicious birthday cake with her albeit with a screen in between! I fully expect to turn on the TV some day and see Jenny on The Great British Bake Off! Keep up the good work - you are all exceptional. Thank you again.
