I definitely expected more from this place, especially for the prices that were being charged. My wife got the goats cheese tart and it seemed to be a premade pastry case with what tasted like a sweet primula cheese, possibly more suited to a cheesecake. The carrot and Chipotle hummus was so bland that it needed some serious seasoning and still didn't got the spot. The homemade lamb burger was OK, although it was quite dense, also needed seasoning and was just very average. The service was with a smile and it was pretty prompt but I'm sure there are better places to go with more reasonable prices.
Food was delicious. The interior looks beautiful. Just was little chaos with our drink order, but staff was helpful.
Exquisite food in a relaxed eclectic atmosphere. The staff were more than lovely although left us a little toward the end when it got busy. The food is the real hero here with a seasonal menu offering a really advanced palate of rich flavours.
Well presented and tasty food, first time I've had a Cod Kiev and it was delicious, the prices are decent and the atmospehere is very cozy. The burger was a bit basic and dry and even though there was barely anyone dining in at the time, the service was a bit slow with no seeming shortage of staff
Had the early bird special, the mackerel was nice but slightly underwhelming. The risotto however was spectacular and really enjoyable. The staff were wonderful and welcoming and truly added to the dining experience. Would definitely go again.
I have to admit I was a bit disappointed with George’s. The food was just okay and the waiting staff, although friendly, forgot a number of things we’d asked for. Nice to try it, but wouldn’t return.
We had a great evening at George's, interesting cocktails, a good bottle of Prosecco and some really tasty food. Our waitress, Helena, served us to perfection and it all came in at an amazingly low price, although there were a lot of special offers on a Monday evening.
Had a super long lunch with friends, felt really welcome to dawdle there over coffee. Food was superb as was the service. Thank you. X Parking: Restricted..only a few spaces but a public car park nearby.
We had a Christmas Eve meal and it was great. They had a festive menu or normal a la carte. All the meals went down well and the service wasn’t too slow or rushed. I had fish and chips and the batter was perfection. When I cut the pure cod fillet open it was over an inch thick and filled the plate. It was beautifully cooked so try it! We had a couple of bottles of wine and had a great time. We have dined for breakfast and also Sunday lunch and have never had any complaints. Not a cheap place but also not too expensive less than £45 a head including wine. I think it’s good value for money and well worth a visit. Parking: Parking for about 10 cars
Very good food, talented chef presenting plates of food well. The emphasis is on quality not quantity but well worth a visit. Car park is small and part shared with other businesses. During our visit still waiting for a delivery , so a really poor choice of non alcoholic beer and cider. Wine list has a reasonable selection but some of the bottle prices for ordinary wines are high. Costs for pubs and restaurants are rising fast. For now expect to pay c £80 per couple for two courses and coffee with a shared bottle of standard wine outside early bird times.
