Food was nice but dearer than other pubs we have visited. Drink was reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very nice pubs with atmosphere.

Lovely open fire, letting out loads of heat. Food delicious, had the jacket potato and couldn't finish it there was so much, staff really pleasant and friendly. Would visit again.

Beer excellent as always.

Food not so, and overpriced for what you get on your plate.

Quite put off by several young families in the bar with screaming little ones. One child allowed to run around in disposable nappies.  Not really on in a bar.  We had to move to another room.

Won't stop me from using the place but will avoid the food in future and check the clientèle before I go in next time.  Probably stay in the Sun instead.

Very helpful and friendly staff.  Enjoyed the Cumberland sausage and mash and the farmer who supplied the pork was at the bar! Rooms are simple but perfectly adequate for walkers. Good shower.

Had dinner here on 30th December - it was OK - which, considering it's not exactly cheap, wasn't really good enough.   

Also we were in a sort of downstairs room, which was a bit dated, a bit weird, and a bit of a shame as the rest of the pub looked lovely.
