Been to many places in Edinburgh but First time to Gautam’s, and it did not disappoint, popped in despite not booking table, got an excellent welcome.Very yummy Indian cuisine. Very well prepared and served. Very few restaurants able to keep the authentic taste and mild spice level to suits local taste, this restaurant does it very well. The staff is very friendly, seating is nice and tidy. Really enjoyed the meal and hospitality. Their biryani is outstanding.portions were spot on and we left feeling happy. Will 100% be back.this is one of my new favourites
Lovely decor, great friendly and attentive service, drinks were tasty and balanced, and the food was also very delicious! Cheesy garlic naan was so good with the chicken. Flavorful and cooked impeccably! Would definitely return and recommend!Recommended dishesPapadum
Very delicious! Wonderful meal with friendly staff! Food were tasty and fresh. We were just passing by and attracted by the warm environment. Highly recommend!
Fantastic food and great service in beautifully styled surroundings. I first heard about Gautam’s from a local newspaper article which highlighted the recent renovations to the restaurant. The place is absolutely beautiful - it’s been styled in such a bold, unapologetic way and it looks so high end yet contemporary. The food is just excellent. All the dishes are very high quality, and there are the standard/typical types of Indian/Nepalese dishes, alongside some more adventurous or unusual options. It was my birthday and they gave me a free bottle of mini Prosecco too! The staff are kind, charming and attentive. I can’t wait to go back!
Fantastic meal and professional, friendly service by all members of staff. I highly recommend this place for those wanting to experience great Indian/Nepalese food. Will definitely be coming back.
Excellent service and food in this local restaurant. The food was fantastic, with generous portions and everything cooked to perfection. The service was extremely friendly and effective from all the staff involved. James was our main server, along with several other members of staff at various points, and they were all great. Couldn't fault any aspect of a very enjoyable evening.
Always 100% amazing! We love Gautam’s! Consistently fantastic food and service. This is my mouth-watering mixed vegetable curry and peshwari nan. Great wine. Probably the best Nepalese and Indian restaurant in Edinburgh!
Momo named because you want more and more! Especially at Gautam's! Fantastic restaurant, the food, the setting and atmosphere was perfect. We had a Michelin star chef eating with us at our table and they could not fault the food! Really worth a visit for authentic Nepalese cuisine.
I used to be a regular customer. However, after today, I will never order anymore from this place. It is clear the food isn't fresh, and the rice is heated up from left over form a night before. The curry tasting old and also the garlic bread isn't fresh at all.
Came here because it was close to the Airbnb I was renting. When I walked in, I was the only one eating inside. The waitress was very chill and nice. Ordered the momos as an appetizer, which dumplings are always good. Had the vegetable biriyani, garlic naan and a chicken dish the waitress recommended. It all came out pretty quickly and was really tasty.
