The Gary Cooper Wetherspoons offers a solid dining and drinking experience with several notable positives. The food and service are above average, making it a reliable choice for a meal or a drink. The menu offers the usual range of options, and the staff are efficient and courteous, ensuring a pleasant visit.nnHowever, be prepared for a bustling atmosphere, especially on a Friday afternoon. The pub can get quite busy, which might affect wait times slightly, but the lively environment adds to the overall charm for those who enjoy a vibrant social setting.nnThe building itself is modern and inviting, with a striking glass frontage that gives the pub a contemporary feel. While most of the pub is clean and well-maintained, the toilets could use some attention as they had a noticeable smell during my visit. Despite this minor issue, the overall cleanliness of the pub is good.nnIn summary, the Gary Cooper is a good spot for food and drinks, particularly if you appreciate good service and a lively atmosphere. Just be prepared for a bit of a crowd on busy afternoons.
This is a pretty good Wetherspoons. The usual sticky tables and menus but the service is good and the food is tasty. The pub is decorated nicely and the outdoor seating area is nice enough. It'd be great if the clientele could keep the pub tidy and also not to leave rubbish and cigarette butts about the place.
Tables dirty. No salt and pepper at condiments station. Tried to pay for with Scottish note and told they had to get it checked so I paid with an English note as there wasn’t anyone around to confirm it was ok. Got my change which included an Irish £5 note!!!!
Sad to say this pub has been pretty awful the last three times we've visited. Went during a not particularly busy time and couldn't get a table because there was all food / plates left on the tables. Bar queue backed up nearly out the door and when the food did finally come was of a poor standard. Staff we just standing round behind the bar not doing anything and clearly ignoring the mess.nnMade a complaint and was promised my money back by the manager who then proceeded to ignore my emails. To this day still haven't had a reply. That's service for you...
Food took an absolute age to arrive and when it did most of it was fridge temperature cold. Promised a refund but still not received. Will never come again and will warn others not to bother. Will stick to my local faltless Wethers in future.
