Gars Chinese Restaurant, in the heart of the famous Brighton Lanes, we offer a creative mix of modern and authentic Chinese cuisine with a sprinkling of Japanese and Thai favourites.

Story

As well as our fantastic menu, with equally fantastic staff, we pride ourselves in how our restaurant looks; from polished bamboo flooring to bespoke modern silk shades, we have strived for a dining area with a contemporary oriental atmosphere.

Since opening in 1983, we have made gars Chinese restaurant something of an institution in Brighton. With its unique features and ambience, this is not what you would expect from an average Chinese restaurant. But then we work very hard to make gars not an average eatery.

Gars is arranged over three floors, with a function room and a bar downstairs, a ground-floor section of sumptuous, red-leather panelling and sexy lighting, and our first floor dining rooms.

Gars is a modern Chinese restaurant and our menu is always evolving to reflect changing tastes and new ideas. Plus, the décor of the restaurant catches the excitement and sophistication of a modern, London-style restaurant in the heart of Brighton.

While serving mainly modern Chinese cuisine, our menu also includes other favourites such as Thai green curry and Japanese dishes like salmon teriyaki. With friendly staff to guide you through all the mouth-watering dishes on offer, you won’t want to miss out on what we think, is a fabulous dining experience.
