Food was great, cocktails were so fancy. You would want to party and booze once you enter this place. Music was so thrilling.If you are in Sligo and want to have drinks with your buddies by the riverside or party at night,have good food,wanna go out ,chill, dance and party with your gang then this is the place for you!It's worth a try. Highly recommended 1 Fancy cocktails 2 chicken wings 3 Shakes and desserts because it's also a cafe in the day time Vegetarian options: Spice box was really good.must try
Some of the bar staff are very inexperienced. They had no jameson but tried to tell customers they were getting jameson. Drinks are over priced for what you are getting quality wise and service. Poor show overall.
I attended the Garvogue numerous times during the most recent June bank weekend. 2022 The team in Garavogue had organised a full weekend for my brother's stag and it was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. It is situated just off the Garavouge river which runs through Sligo town. So really nice to sit outside and enjoy some food and drinks. The Garavogue itself is split into a number of different sections. This includes a restaurant with food and drink. The food and drinks here were also really nice and they have a camille thai menu as part of the building and in that evening then has a bar and disco area below. It was very lively and was one of the main spots in Sligo we spent most of our time. The bar and staff, including the security or super friendly, helpful and fun ready made it an enjoyable time while there. Big shout out to the bouncer/security man who was the spitting image of "Eddie Durkin" from the TV series "Hardy Bucks" He was actually such a sound funny lad and myself and our stag crew had great laugh with him. Could definitely recommend giving The Garvogue Bar a visit while in Sligo.
Last night some friends and I went to The Garavogue for a night out. It’s always 18+ on a Wednesday night which we all were so we had no problem being let in. The bouncers checked our IDs, let us in and we had a great time for about 20 minutes when suddenly bouncers began kicking people out. They told us that it was now 21+ and ended up making about 40-50 people leave. The bouncers were rude and abrasive and shouted at the people they had kicked out to get out of the area. As young women, this was degrading and made us feel unsafe as we were left outside on a cold late night with nowhere to go. They refused to let people back in to get their bags and coats in the middle of December and were overall incredibly aggressive and seemed to enjoy the whole thing. Won’t be going back anytime soon as they really don’t seem to care about their customers or their customers safety.
Went out with a few friends all 20: told it was 18+ during the week so we had no problem getting in. 20 min later the bouncers proceeded to aggressively kick everyone under 21 out saying it was over 21s only now. They wouldn’t let anyone come back to get jackets etc. On a freezing december night . It was demeaning and made us as young women feel unsafe being rudely kicked out on a cold night after being let in only 20 min prior. Half the place was under 21 so this left an unnecessarily large group wandering the streets
This place is amazing at such a great time everybody in it is mental if you want to have a night out to remember go here its unforgetable!!!!!
Harrowing experience in the garavogue last week. A group of Friends and I decided to go out for an early christmas celebration and it was fair to say that this did not put us in a cheery mood. On an 18’s+ night, all ID’s being checked and the whole group let in, after about 20 minutes in the place security began seemingly randomly kicking young people out, claiming that it was now over 21’s. We were aggressively forced to leave without our jacket and bags and kicked out onto the street without reason. the bouncers claiming that it was now suddenly over 21’s even though we all 18+ had all been let in only 20 minutes prior. Safe to say i will not be returning ANY time soon
I had an amazing night there New Years Eve. The staff were lovely, the atmosphere was electric & the live band was great.
Absolutely disgusting the way the bouncers treat the customers very rude and aggressive for no reason I highly recommend not going there it’s a disgrace.
One of 2 late bars in Sligo. Expensive pint. Often has good bands. Good staff
