You can never get through on the phone, long queues when you turn up in person. No follow up on appointments when they say they will and I was de-registered without knowing it, meaning no access to my prescription for over 4 months and no way of booking any further appointments. It's a disgrace, especially when I have a chronic illness!!
Open plan doctors, Reception staff as welcoming and friendly, u dont have to be on the phone for a long time, you can also get same day appointments which is hard to come by in most doctors
I am stroke patient and was in wales, for a holiday and had to arrange for Irn bloods. We called and made an appointment and advised them of my circumstances. They asked if I had blood form I confirmed I had. On arrival I introduced myself and advised the receptionist I have had a stroke, well that opened a new can of worms, she asked me to fill the form I advised her I could do it but have the paper work, could she help me, Her attitude was very dismissive and aggressive and she left and was gone, she returned with another lady and they were laughing . I advised that I can call my husband to assist me but she ignored me and I stood there until she asked me to sit in the waiting room. I sat there waiting for my husband to interject, by the time he arrived I was visibly upset as some of the staff looked at me, laughing. My husband came asked if there was a problem but no she was polite and explained what going on. Ps I'm Black and husband is white Not that should matter but appparantly it matter by the responses we both got. I went in to do my blood the nurse knowing that I had stroke took bloods on my weaker side and asked me to make a fist? huh I had a stroke for crying loud. I reminded that could not do that due my stroke. I was at boiling point now and wanted to leave and be gone. Talk about discrimination, harassment, bullying. I am getting in touch to the surgery and reporting to them to cqc and the nurse to nmc!!

I have always been treated very well at this practice. The reception staff are very accommodating and do their very best to get appointments sorted out to suit me. I have also had the privilege of working with the asthma nurse there to work out the best approach for controlling my asthma. Top notch.
2 month wait for an appointment. Told they were running a behind on appointments, waited 50 minute to be told that I had already been marked as seen, the told the doctor had gone home for the day and I would have to go back on to a waiting list to wait another 2 months for an appointment. Receptionist did manage to book another appointment but what a total waste of my time.
I moved to Carmarthen two years ago and registered with Furnace house. I have had to see a doctor more times in the last six months than in my previous sixty years and I can not fault the service that I have received during this period in my life. All doctor surgeries are under pressure to deliver appointments, this is a national problem that the Assembly needs to address therefore, we can't attribute this problem to individual surgeries.

Really good doctor's surgery. Very polite staff and very covid safe. Dr Joel is exceptional one of the best Doctor's I have ever seen. Keep up the good work
There used to be good doctors at Furnace House but they've left and there's been a huge turnover of doctors since. I've just had emergency surgery because of years of misdiagnosis finally resulted in a life-threatening condition. I'm now left with additional health problems because of Furnace House's neglect. When I needed a doctor out of hours, there was none, and NHS Direct advised me to go to A&E. I don't think I'll ever trust this practice again.
