Frying squad Balloo used to be one of the best in bangor. After tonight I will never set foot in it again. Got food home and portions were measly chips overdone, curry chip with what I can only describe as a tablespoon of curry. Got 2 kids meals with gravy and no gravy in bag or drinks. Staff were nice though.
I placed an order on the frying squads app and was given a time to collect my order. I arrived at my selected time and waited as usual for my order to be called, ten minutes later and still nothing. Another customer walked in and said he had ordered online, only to be told they hadn't received it. I then asked if they had received my order only to be told no, then had to wait for everyone else's order to be served before getting mine. This is a disaster of a chippy, over the years, I've had bad food, measly portions and terrible service, not to mention no chicken burgers only chicken goujons in a bap, I mean what chippy doesn't do chicken burgers. Again over the years I have given this place a wide berth only to give them another chance, and each time let down, chances have now run out. I did email "telltheboss" to let them know the reason I would be leaving negative feedback, only to receive a message saying, I'm out of the office, I will respond to emails on my return.
07/02/23. I recently visited this branch of The Frying Squad on Balloo Road, Bangor. I was shocked to be charged/robbed of '£6:20' for a meagre sized Sausage Supper. In these very difficult financial times for many, These people obviously have no shame !
I order a fish supper meal and a pastie online last night . The chips were terrible dried up and lots were just crispy many covered in black pieces and many had skin still on them . The fish batter was soft and not cooked properly while the fish itself was so thin you almost hard to find in the under cooked batter. On the up side the pastie was very nice well cooked and tasty. I would suggest that you give the place a miss as there are much better chippies in Bangor . As requested I contacted tell the boss as advised on 19 July got out of office reply will be in contact on my return now 4August no reply .
Have to say I've tried loads of chip shops all over Northern Ireland as im a delivery driver, and i googled chip shop while i was in balloo industrial estate and The Frying squad was s close, so off i went, and boy the food was delicious, staff were friendly, place was clean, and prices wernt bad either, next time I'm down that direction I'm definitely taking a detour to it.
Not one for leaving reviews but ordered two Jumbo chips @ just shy of £9. Absolutely shocking how little the portions were. I am well aware of the increase of costs etc but what I recieved tonight was poor.
Tried to order a meal from the frying squad app was told food would be here within thirty mins when order went through and payment was taken from my bank, over an hour passed and still no food and no answer on any phone numbers, I drove round to the clandeboye road shop who assured me payment would be put back in my bank I’m still waiting!!! So got no food and no refund.
Food is very tasty, and the chips cooked perfectly. Staff is also friendly.Food: 5/5
Absolutely ridiculous for the 2nd time in a matter of months goujon supper has came with only 2 bits of chicken. Even worse this time with only half a dozen chips. Won't be back again complete rip off at £8 for that
