Food lovely as always. I was walking past today before 2pm and the shutters were down. I thought that you were open 12pm til 7pm .
Good food, My daughter went down for a chip after work as she was babysitting and Daintys was closing at 7pm . I thought that Daintys didn't close til 9pm or 10pm at the latest.
I feel incredibly sorry for the owner. The pricing is great and the menu is well rounded. The staff are a joke. I walked in, and I stood by the till for 3 minutes, waiting for one employee to finish texting on her phone. Another employee spotted me, looked at the other one texting, and turned her back on me. After 3 minutes, I was finally allowed to have by order taken. I walk out to my car to give them time to prepare the order. 5 minutes later I walk back in, and I stand for a further ten minutes waiting for the two employees to finish their lovely conversation at the back. I even called out at one point with no response. When the memeber of staff came back, she pointed to a bag on the counter and said it was mine. I had ordered a pastie supper, which on the menus is pictured with chips and a bottle of coke. It is priced at £5.25. I ask if I could have a drink, to which she responds by saying it does not come with a drink. So either she couldn’t be bothered, or the menu needs updated. I have eaten here before and enjoyed it, but the staff are lazy and ill mannered. I feel sorry for the owner, as their employees are happy to accept their wage, but quite prepared to work very little for it. I never leave bad reviews, but this was a joke.
Poor service and ignorant member of staff. I went in here today at lunchtime to order a sausage supper which cost me £4.85. Rather than stay in the shop with my mask on I chose to wait outside, and while standing outside I noticed a board on the wall stating that they were doing a lunchtime special sausage supper with beans etc for I think £3.30. So I went straight back in and asked if I should have ordered this instead and was told by the younger staff member that "you didn't order that". I said that I didn't know there was a special, but might expect to be advised of this when ordering. Her reply was "there's a sign outside with the specials on it that you could have read". Embarrassed, I went back outside again to wait for my supper. Needless to say I won't be back. This review is not about the difference in cost - more to highlight the service other readers might expect to receive here.
Following an abysmal and disappointing experience with another takeaway in Bangor a few weeks ago I have to say; give Daintys a go! I phoned the order in and it was ready when I arrived. The fish was gorgeous and cooked to perfection and the chips for both suppers were lovely! Avoid ‘Award Winning’ outlets! - Daintys is the real winner!
Don't bother phoning ahead. We have eaten a few times here and last time we phoned ahead and where told 40 minutes. So arrived 40 minutes later to find they hadn't put it on Wouldn't mind if it was busy but only one other person there and a Monday night. Food is readable but portion sizes have gone down recently as well as prices going up. Won't be going back.
Very dissatisfied went yesterday first in a while got 4 meals ... the chips were like rubber as if they had been cooked and re cooked . The pastie was full of grease and very thin. My daughter got a cheesy beano and couldnt eat it... sorry but this used to be good chipy... standards have dropped.
I used to like this place, I used to tell people that came over it was good, we haven't got from it in months because every time we try they are closed, I went at 7:16pm the first time and just closed, no Idea why a week or two after that I went again at 7:30ish and closed, I called in a girl answered and said they have new closing hours of 8pm I asked her why she was closed so soon before 8pm and she said "we close 15 minutes early so we can clean". I went again today at 7:20pm and STILL CLOSED. I am not going to bother anymore, this is what I and I know many other average people consider dinner time, why would you close at a time that could be making you money, stupid buiness decision and very lazy staff to be closing ridiculously earlier than 8pm just so they can 'clean' which in their world just must mean getting out early
Used to be a regular customer until four and a half minutes ago. Today I waited for an hour to get my delivery, I then waited a further one hour and thirty minutes to get back the £10 they over-charged for it. Lost ten pounds immediately, saved more in the long run.
Had food here a few time, can be really good or really bad,got battered sausages today, where leftovers from the night before refried batter was burnt very very brittle and dark brown in colourthis has happened to me a few time with pasties and steakettes, will not be back
