Having been a pupil here for six years I think I can give a fairly accurate insight as to what the school is like. The lack of communication is abhorrent and the system for marking pupils as present is as effective as picking up dog leavings with a paper spoon. Needs of pupils are completely neglected and the younger years are learning nothing because the teachers' abilities to discipline are grossly inadequate. Not to mention the rampant substance abuse problem and pathetic attempts to promote diversity. I know a pupil who has been the target of multiple race fuelled attacks who got suspended for defending themselves or received no justice at all in these instances. Teachers are more concerned about dress code than the wellbeing of their pupils and are focused on attainment over everything else. Perhaps less money should be spent on renovations and TVs, and more on resources that actually benefit the young people of the school.
A festering pit of swine, that is how I would describe this place. Fraserburgh, heroin capital of Britain. It is fitting that it's secondary education institution exist only to perpetuate the issue. It's not even in question, you need only refer to the recent discovery of a drug ring being ran by staff at the school. If you don't believe me, you clearly haven't been reading the Fraserburgh Herald lately. But who does anymore? Three classes of student graduate from Fraserburgh Academy the few that do graduate anyway: The User, the Abuser and the Dealer. The User is conditioned with intermittent administration of the drug to create a form of dependence, but not to the extremes that they are totally debilitated by their craving. They will be able to function as a basic worker in the town, while also creating some semblance of normality. The Abuser is totally and completely reliant on the drug, in short, an addict. It's what it says on the tin really. The Dealer is a role reserved for students who show some promise. A dull light in the cesspit of Fraserburgh's population, these people will serve to perpetuate the cycle of addiction and increase the income of those at the heart of the Fraserburgh Academy drug ring. With any luck, this place will be shut down soon, but I doubt there is much hope.
