What a fantastic find! The food was amazing, the service brilliant and the rooms lovely! Had been at a conference in Oxford and decided to stop on the way home. Will come back again for a social. Could not fault it. Beautiful location. Keep up the good work! Thanks for an enjoyable stay
Myself and family members enjoyed a fantastic meal yesterday at the Fox. The service is extremely friendly and helpful. And the food was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be coming again. The location is also absolutely beautiful. Lovely to see banks of snowdrops.Service: 5/5
Great atmosphere...car park definitely needs a light for safety at night....you can't even see the ground where you are walking, be careful! Food was 6/10. I had the daily pie ... too much crust and way too little filling. They served with chips but no mash were available as an option. My husband had fish and chips.. now that was spot on. Our reservation was at 7. By 8p they had run out of a daily special dessert and a daily special main. We were disappointed about the dessert! Staff was very attentive and pleasant.
We loved the overall atmosphere and the facilities available as a result of the recent renovations. The Fox was a lovely and comfortable location with good beer, good service and comfortable rooms. I would imagine that the gardens will get very busy in the summer the weather wasn’t particularly nice to us during our visit, but we still wandered into the garden to admire the view. We will be returning at some point.
Had a lovely one night stay. Fantastic room. Everything is pristine and spotlessly clean . We had a lovely roof terrace where we sat and enjoyed a wine before it became too cold. Next morning we enjoyed a lovely breakfast, cooked perfectly. Great value. Fantastic location to explore the cotswolds. Would thoroughly recommend.
We stayed on 22 and 23 Nov 2022 in rooms Sheringwood and Burton I think. I wish I could rate this place better. Everything was excellent. The rooms were warm, clean, beds comfortable. Attention to detail was immaculate. The management had great ownership. The food at the bar was excellent. 3 examples: 1. We enjoyed the fish and chips as well as the grilled hake with lentils. This is saying a lot as we are ethnic Chinese from Singapore and we are particular about our fish. 2. We had a "steak and ale" pie on pie-night. The next morning, at breakfast we overheard an elderly English couple remarking that it was the nicest pie they've ever had. 3. Finally their English breakfast is the nicer ones we had during the trip. But their kindness and accommodation came across. We booked the accommodation on a website and could not register our 3 year old son who was travelling with us. They allowed him to have cornflakes and made him an omelette and declined when we wanted to pay for his omelette. It was a kind gesture. We didn't mean to take advantage of it, but it made the stay extremely pleasant.
Had our first lunch in our future local and were disappointed with the fish and chips. The batter was stodgy and almost burnt - the chips were dark brown suggesting high sugar content spuds or using old oil. Didn't want to raise the issue with the charming and efficient staff particularly as the pies and belly pork were okay. We will be back - hopefully just a blip!
Had lunch here was was super tasty. Lovely atmosphere and very welcoming with dogs. Nice local beers as wellService: 5/5
The Fox at Barrington is lovely, the food is very good and the bar is really cosy. Our room was amazing lots of space and well equipped with smart tv and comfy bed. We even had a big balcony that over looked the fields. The staff are fantastic, especially Eva she made us feel very welcome and was helpful with my booking. Overall 10/10 will be staying again.
I stopped by for a meal with a walking group, they were very accommodating with the dogs and the staff were helpful and friendly, the vegan option was really nice , only marked down because of lack of choices with vegan options, overall a good experience though Nearby activities: Nice walks
