Last minute call to book a table as all the local pubs close to Combe Martin were full. We were a party of 3 and had the 3 separate meal which arrived after about 20 minutes waiting for the fresh products to be cooked. Plenty on the plate after a days walking and very friendly hosts behind the bar. The menu was small but in my view enough choices for all. Not disappointed in one bit we'll worth the drive out and parking across the road. Wish there was more pubs like this please support these village pubs.
Really yummy food - a great menu with tasty and interesting dishes as well as really nicely done traditional food. Fantastic use of local produce from meat and fish to vegetables. The staff were really friendly and warm and very kind to our 6 year old. Having had a really disappointing meal of garlic prawns in an expensive restaurant in Salcombe a few days earlier, I was dubious to try it again here - however I was glad I did, it was amazing! Their chef and front of house team should be proud! Thoroughly recommend it.
Tremendous in every way. Fantastic base for a holiday in North Devon. Oh forgot to mention the brilliant food. It is not cheap but you get your monies worth and all local produce. Highly recommendedRooms: 5/5
Went there for a meal food and service were excellent, so good to see rice pudding as a dessert option. Will happily return in the future.Service: 5/5

Well worth a stay rooms are really really nice and there very clean. Staff are very welcoming and helpful and the food is amazing .
We went for lunch on a Thursday in June. There were no other customers when we arrived and the bar lady was very helpful, opening up the small terrace area and getting the parasol set up. The terrace is very attractive, right beside the river and with lots of pots with mature plants. Lunch was good, quick to arrive, tasty and good value. We shared a meat platter, my wife had a delicious nut roast and I had venison and mushroom stroganoff. We didn't really need a dessert but the raspberry posset with shortbread was irresistible so we shared one. When we left there were another seven diners so not crowded but best to book at weekends and evenings probably. Well worth a vist.
