My third time visiting Fourteas, it has been maybe 5 years since my last visit. I feel the decor is looking a bit tired and I am not a fan of the paint effect they have going on. That being said the food was lovely if not a bit overpriced. I had the french onion soup £8.50 which was really tasty and to follow a slice of Victoria Sponge with clotted cream £6.50. The cake was yummy but the price annoyed me. The cafe is so busy with people coming in and out and the staff flying around. Overall I did enjoy my visit but I think a few things need tweaking.
Had to wait in a queue for twenty minutes but absolutely worth it. Service is impeccable and the afternoon teas looked amazing. Had extra large cheese scone and breakfast tea. Even explained how long to brew my tea Food: 5/5
This is a nice place to visit. The interior decor is nice and is basically set in period, as is the staff clothing. The tea and coffee that we ordered was really nice. The cake slices that we ordered were also really nice but took an age to get to our table. One member of staff seemed a bit off with us. We really enjoyed this place, we would recommend it as a place to visit for a nice hot drink and a slice of cake or something to eat.
The Fourteas Tea Room is the best place to enjoy high tea if you are in the area. Freshly made Tea with delicious food, friendly staff and beautiful ambiance. A must visit spot if you are visiting the birth town of Shakespeare.Food: 5/5
Enjoyed a wonderful celebration dinner here upstairs in the private Spitfire room for 16 guests attending a Golden Wedding Anniversary. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout the evening. Within minutes of sitting down the table was filled with a delicious British themed Tapas menu… everybody ate until they were stuffed, and yet there was still food left on the table! We enjoyed meats, pies, seafood, breads, cheeses, dips and salads while the children enjoyed their chicken, chips and beans in little mess tins! The quality was incredible, and apparently entirely made on site using local ingredients. I wasn’t the bill payer, but I can vouch that the value-for-money was outstanding. The team that run this place should be incredibly proud; it was a wonderful experience for both food and service. If you are looking for an informal and relaxed celebratory environment, I can not recommend this experience highly enough! Kid-friendliness: Lovely mini-mess tin dinners!
Our first visit to The Fourtease tea room on 1st June 2022 at 2pm. We was greated by the owner who seated us at table 5. It was very busy. Table 5 was a small table that was uneven and rocked. We was brought two ration books and within minutes a waitress dressed in a red style 40s dress asked for our order in an unfriendly quick manor and no smiles. We ordered two Cappuccinos, one lemon cake & one Betty's bouncing scone. We already had two green small china tea cups on the table we was brought our order 10 minutes later, our Cappuccinos where served in two small tea cups and when I say small Im talking Espresso size drinks?? My scone was stale and crumbled ever time I tried to but butter and jam on. All in all i woukd not recommend visiting this place. Price and service was very poor. Staff not very friendly. I witnessed a member of staff clear awy table 4 with a dry napkin so as far as hygine goes, its none existent. Waitresses struggled with english. While I was still eating my stale scone a waiter asked to take my plate ??? Total Spent £18.00 over priced and un-welcoming
Went for the Ivor Novello 'Classic' Afternoon Tea at £19.50 per person. A good afternoon tea with a really nice selection of sweet items which were not overly sweet or too sickley. The scones were good, would have been nice to have them warmed up before serving but the jam and clotted cream were delicious. The sandwiches were tasty but I think for the price I was expecting just a little bit more variety and creativity than the standard, I totally get the theme of the tea room is 1940's but just think it could be better value for money compared to other Afternoon Teas I've had in the Cotswolds. The staff and service were great though and could not fault them, very kind, chatty and quick to help and serve. Would happily come back here again to try other lunch items on the menu.
Had an amazing time at The Fourteas when we stopped for a cream tea on a lovely Saturday afternoon. There was a short queue outside but we got seated very quickly. Staff were nice and friendly and a few of the ladies were dressed in beautiful 1940's dresses. Scones and tea was very lovely. We hope to return sometime in the future for a full afternoon tea.
Came across this fabulous tearoom quite by chance. Looks small from the outside but very roomy on the inside. Novel theme with staff dressed the part. Great menu with a super range of teas and afternoon tea options. Stopped off to shelter from the rain and enjoyed a snack with a generous pot of home brewed tea. Clean and hygienic, great customer service and generous portions. Would definitely recommend!
Lovely 1940s themed Tea room, friendly staff, good menu choices tasted lovely, great for something different.
