A proper dive with live music if that's your thing. Perfect for me as there is no where else in worthing to see live metal bands. Love the design of the place with a staged area and bar. The recent works to building make it feel alot cleaner with more seating inside as well now

Saw The Vibrators here the other night. Very compact venue - one might say intimate - good acoustics given that. Fair selection of reasonably priced beer.

Worthing town centre seems to be mostly divided into two kinds of drinking establishments. Either trendy lets try to keep up with Brighton hipster bars selling upmarket beers that will have you extending your overdraft for an after work drink, or pubs that have not been touched for so long that walking into them would have you believe you have had a Life on Mars type experience where you have landed yourself back in 1973. Forty Two is a refreshing alternative to both. I find it a cool little dive bar, with a real alternative feel to it. Very basic lay out a stage a bar with stools and a couple of tables and that's it. I find it a great place to sit down at the bar have some conversation with somebody or just to look out at the sea and watch the world go by. I just wish they could open more in the afternoons as it is just the sort of place you could find comfortable in to unwind with a couple of beers after a busy morning.

Great staff. Great live music venue though a bit on the small side. Great selection of drinks and spirits. A good night out
