What should I say? Coffee was lovely and smooth, pork pie was tasty, cinnamon roll was very nice and my goodness savoury bun with tomato, spinach, runny egg yolk and cheese was delicious!! The atmosphere and staff were nice and friendly. You can see their talents and hard work. Definitely recommend this place. Keep it up guys!!
Where do I start. This place is tucked away but always busy…what a great sign. You can see the team baking away so you know everything is fresh. The coffee is fantastic and is great quality. You have to try the morning bun, their contents change regularly but are always made with something seasonal. I had a blueberry one, it’s warm, crunchy on the outside with a soft, custard like middle. I also treated myself to a cinnamon bun. I ride, there are a lot of bikes there, and normally they line the streets. I think that’s the one thing I’d change, getting some A-frame racks for the bikes would be a big win.
Stumbled across Fortitude tucked away in the mews behind Russell Square tube station. A real find! Delicious brownie and very good coffee. So good that I bought two bags which they ground for me there and then. Knowledgeable and helpful staff make it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Great place to stop off en route to Queen Square.
So so tasty!!!! Stopped by this morning & ordered a sausage roll & cheese scone to split with my boyfriend. Perfect to start your day for a quality grab & go bite w/coffee. Highly recommend!!!
I have been going to Fortitude regularly for the past year now and I can say that I have never, ever had anything but a friendly welcome and many many delicious buns! If you're passing by and there's a queue, just stand in it, it's there for a reason and it moves pretty quickly even though the staff are always happy to explain what's in each and every wonderful looking bun on the counter. I now have to take a bag with me when I go, because if I return home empty handed then there's hell to pay. Strongly recommend the morning buns, especially when they're apple or rhubarb, and the cheese scones... I could carry on listing things but I've never had anything that I didn't love so just go, eat and be happy.
One of the best bakeries out there. The bakers and staff are friendly, attentive and personal-amazing people! Their feta and spinach roll is a heavenly harmony between crispy and doughy. The sausage roll is also very good with densely packed meat wrapped around in a dough that is well-layered and crispy. I would recommend their palmier too, best consumed with black coffee. Local bakeries like this really builds a character for the area!
Woow... This is probably one of the best bakery I've visited.. Fresh desserts and bread made in front of us. Constantly baking.. Coffees good, the sandwiches are just unbelievable... Must try! Customer service is excellent. They're recommendations are very good. Pity there isn't any seating.. But still the food is just out this world! Well done guys.. Keep it up!
A wonderful gem tucked behind Russell Square station. The selection of baked goods was so varied that I struggled to decide what to get! Their chocolate orange and pistachio cakes were the highlight for me - they had that distinct homemade feel.
Best sausage roll I've ever had. Not joking. The puff pastry is very flavoursome, silky and has the fat of the meat throughout it. There are lots of good bakeries in London, but this one is amongst my top 5 for sure. They seem to have some classics daily, but they also shuffle up things. It's made fresh on the spot. You can see them baking right there. The location is tucked away behind Russel Square tube station. Some option sell out fast. Popular with cyclists having a coffee break.
Heard so much about Fortitude on social media & this bakery did not disappoint! Drop by on weekday morning and was greeted by friendly staffs. Definitely my top 3 bakeries in London for Sticky Cinnamon Bun! Got their signature beignet as well. Will be back to try their special scones Updated: Went back again to get their Rosewater Cream and Jam Scone. It was really huge and the rose flavour was so on point! Got the cinnamon bun again this time but somehow wasn’t as good as previous, prolly cause it was not warm / fresh off the oven like before
