Only open on selected days so check the website before going. Only downside on the day we visited was a lack of toilets on site. But the rest of it was brilliant. The guides on site were very approachable and friendly. Such a fantastic place to spend time. We will definitely return for musket demonstrations and more exploring soon. Free to park and enter although contributions are welcomed.
Quite a well preserved big castle, shame that it only opens on the second and fourth Saturday during summer, so really limits your dates to visit. Very standard star forts with exhibits of cannons, military equipment and a nice walk up the elevated fort. Well worth a wander around especially if their is an event on. Allow 2 hours I’d say. Free to get in
Had a fantastic time looking around. Had never been in there and its right on my door step. The volunteers that reenactment gave really good information about the fort. Showing everyone how they used the guns was amazing. Its not a whole day but you can spend a few hours plus its free but only open once a month
Been before for the history, today we went for the Christmas fayre. Great event, bigger than expected so many great stalls, spent a fortune! Dog friendly but a little cramped in places. Loved the characters also wandering around. If you haven't been, look out for next year's event hope they will do again x
Event there as part of the heritage promotional week . Only slight downside was lack of toilet facilities . Some of our group were in their 80,s and so having too walk over too the range to use their facilities was not good . I did speak too management and was told it's something that is under review mainly due too health and safety and including disability access .

A great place to visit with lots of history on view. Built between 1858-62 this is one of Palmerston's forts to defend Portsmouth. There are lots of things to explore, including exhibits, and is a great place to have a picnic too. There is a moat going around the fort that can be fished. There is a car park close to the entrance and was easy enough to park there please note that there is only the lower parts of the fort accessible to the disabled. A wonderful day out and all completely free of charge!

After living in and around gosport for the last 31 years! I've never been to Fort Brockhurst till recently and even though it's small and not a lot there it's a beautiful place not something for a day trip but on the way too something, as part of a day out or on the way back it's ideal the reinactors were amazing too! Really friendly and informative.. Great team up there just a shame its only opened once a month for around 6 months of a year but I get 8ts probably all ran by donations.. thanks to everyone there!
