Perfect for a relaxing break! We joined friends for an overnight stay and the lodges were very clean and comfortable. They had all the comforts of home.... and more if you count the hot tub. We were there just to relax but there's a lot to see and do in the area within a short drive.
Lovely and cosy yet bright and fresh. We stopped in for a breakfast roll and coffee. Latte was lovely in a really decent big mug and Lorne sausage was fab. Lovely staff and there was a bar if you fancied something stronger!
What a stunning, peaceful location for a woodland getaway. Cabin accommodation was beautiful and immaculate and the setting made you feel like you were the only people for miles!!! Friendly staff and lots of experiences to keep the family entertained. Would highly recommend!!
Just returned from a visit, my neice and family are there for 5 days. Cabins are lovely, very well appointed. Location fantastic, one hour from Glasgow but feels like much more when you look at the surrounding scenery. Would love to spend more time there.
Simple to use website. I’m quite dyslexic and the site was easy to navigate. The lodges have great amenities and suites for people with challenged mobility. Staff are lovely and very helpful. Can’t wait to visit. Thank you Dean
Simply stunning. One of the best holidays my wife and I have ever had. The location is idyllic, but also well placed for exploring. The cabin is well appointed, and the staff super friendly and helpful. Brilliant!
This was our second stay at these cabins. We booked again after really enjoying the first stay a few years ago. The cabins are comfortable, the views and walks are brilliant for a relaxing trip away, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The reason for giving only 3 stars this time is down to a few changes since last time, which feel geared towards squeezing every penny out of you and to be honest tainted our trip. For example: Blocking off the HDMI ports on the TV and charging you an extra £60 to use them. When you are on holiday with young children and the evenings are dark and wet, you want to be able to put on a cartoon or movie for them. There is a log fire in the cabin, but you get exactly 1 piece of firewood - and charged £10 for additional wood, enough to last a couple of days at most. I tried to leave this feedback on the guest survey I was sent after check out, but when I indicated that I wasn't perfectly happy with the stay, the survey was cut short. Seems like they are only interested in receiving positive feedback, which is a shame because with a few minor changes this could once again be a really nice place to stay. Unfortunately I was left with the feeling of being constantly squeezed for extra money at every opportunity, so I wouldn't return again.
I met here with friends for an afternoon drink and a chat. It's an unexpected pleasure to find a place like this, "far from the madding crowd" - particularly as it stays open all through the "closed" season. It's primarily a general shop for the surrounding holiday cabins, but also serves decent teas and coffees with a good selection of cakes and pastries. It lies beside a popular cycle route, but is also accessible by car with plenty of parking available. The location is stunning - right beside Loch Lubnaig and surrounded by hills. A wee gem for those willing to be a bit adventurous!
We have stayed at both Forest Holidays locations in Scotland, both have their own unique qualities, this one in Strathyre has had time to grow with the forest around so each cabin feels very secluded and surrounded in nature, it is very quiet and peaceful with the only noise being that of the local wildlife. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding area. Plenty of options in the on site shop and for meals in the evening. Great spot for anyone who loves to trek or hike as you can set straight off from the cabin to Ben Ledi. Was perfect holiday for us as we have a dog and he loves the open spaces and little walks.
Stunning location, cabins are clean, warm and everything you could want. Great place for a relaxing weekend with family and friends, can't wait to visit again
