Really nice chalets tucked away in the forest with all the facilities you need to live and have a very enjoyable stay. Our chalet also benefitted from a hot tub which was brilliant! Would stay again for sure. Lots of activities and things to do too!

Great place to visit for wife's birthday,  good clean cabin, nice hot tub. Shop and cafe abit on the expensive side. Close to the cycle tracks and Go Ape.

This was a second visit to the holiday lodges. Lovely setting ,cabins not too close to each other and clean with good facilities. Staff are friendly and helpful.Took 2 dogs this time and felt that £10 per night per dog was a bit expensive.

The hot tubs are warm not hot at 37 degrees and cleaned daily and not overlooked. The kitchen is well stocked for self catering. The beds are comfortable. One shower was a great temperature and one was chillier than the hot tub. The cabins are pet friendly to many dog hairs left in ours so not great if you suffer from allergies. One / two short walks in the retreat and more bike roots. Go ape on site. Archery, rifle shooting, clay pigeon shooting, quiz night, pottery colouring and lead walks for things to do. Short drive away from other good walks. Nice but very expensive shop. Pizza was a big disappointment one night.

If you like the idea of staying in a forest in a beautiful cabin (not a log cabin) then this will be for you. The Forest Retreat with its shop, bar/restaurant and helpful staff is the hub of the place. There are activities to be booked too (we didn't so can't add to that). Best part for us is that each cabin of silver standard and above has its own private hot tub on the decking outside the cabin - if you are visiting outside of the summer season try turning all the lights off in the cabin and view the stars from your hot tub.
