Coming from a coastal town with loads of chippers I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and tastiness of this place. Very busy but had a great system for ordering and cooking.Also had sitting area in marquee with a bar. Previous reviewer mentioned frozen chips. Definitely not.
Food was fine, freshly cooked and tasty. However, a 45 min wait for fish and chips is excessive. OK, it seemed fairly busy but some indication of waiting time would be helpful. Had some very hungry kids getting quite frustrated waiting for their food.
Had a fish supper from here on Friday night which my husband picked up and brought back to the caravan. It was delicious and freshly cooked. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely visit again next time we are there
Went in an hour before closure for pizza, to be told that they've stopped doing pizza for the night and only chip shop menu to pick from. Selected 2 mince pies and chips. Asked for salt and sauce on both. The miniscule squirt of sauce he put on them forced me to ask him, " I don't want to be cheeky, but can we have more sauce on them? " He looked at me and laughed as he closed the boxes , handed them over and said, "bye". Got home , opened them up to find that the chips are actually reheated frozen chips you'd buy from a supermarket. The pie itself must have been sitting for a few hours or more as was very poor indeed. And as for being charged £12 for the 2.....a complete con!!!! Wouldn't waste my time nor money with them again.
Excellent Idea chippy with marquee and bar live band's in the summer..had some great night night's in here.. people staying in tent's.. lodges and caravans in Blair athol or bridge of tilt caravan park and locals well worth a visit lot's of tables and large areas to dance..Food: 5/5
The fish and chips I bought at this place is absolutely amazing, well seasoned, delicious and worth the price. I much prefer using plastic utensils over wooden ones which is a good thing about this place. However, the only sauce they had was brown sauce and there wasn't any seating the restaurant as far I was I aware of. Overall, I enjoyed eating the food that I had bought here and I recommend that you buy the fish and chips if you can.
Waited over half an hour for some re-heated chips and half an overcooked sausage. Lovely beech tree outside.
Food in the park is a great pit stop or for dinner and evening entertainment!! Staff is really friendly and food is very good!! Fish and chips is a recommendation!
Chicken burger, pizza, fish and chips all were terrible. Frozen chicken between two buns; no sauce, no lettuce, nothing else, and charged 25p for ketchup and mayo. Pizza was straight out of the frozen food section. They couldn't even bake it right, as the dough was hardly baked at all. Fish was way too greasy. Apart from the poor food, when you would like to go to the toilets provided by the council right next to the cafe cafe's own toilets are closed, you are greeted with a passive aggressive note by the staff, almost taking out their anger for previous complaining customers on you. Would not recommend.
Really enjoyed the pizza. Polite efficient service - you get a small buzzer that goes off when your food is ready to collect & you can either wait outside our go have a drink in the marquee out back which was also very good. A few folk were also eating in the marquee. For such a small village, I thought it was a great business offering a wide range of food at a good price. Well worth a visit if you're nearby and can't be bothered to cook.
