I booked a table for 7 people to celebrate my daughters graduation. I was excited to see the new revamp and have an enjoyable evening. However it was not enjoyable. We waited an hour for our food. When I asked the waitress where our food was she replied 'we are busy and we have new new chefs cooking'!!! OK but your a restaurant and whether you have 3 people or 100 people the food needs to come out on time or at least tell your customers what is happening and compensate them for the delay. Well when the food did come out, the spiced coconut curry came out with no sauce simple a plate of rice with a few pieces of broccoli and a dash of sauce! , the hosin, sesame and plum duck stir fry was cold but served on a hot plate! The smoked haddock fish cakes did not have a lemon veloute on it and the poached egg was a fried/hard egg. For such an important occasion to remember and celebrate, I am extremely disappointed and would advise you not to book this restaurant. Although we did laugh at the end because the only thing that was so quick was getting the bill. And being handed the card machine.
Had the best Sunday Roast dinner. From the moment you walk in the decor grabs you. We were greeted by staff who were really friendly and attentive. The food was simply divine, so much I did wonder if it was acceptable to order 2 servings! Then to finish off the perfect meal, came dessert! Oh WOW incredible. Bravo The Flying Horse - will deffo be back
Went for Christmas Day meal and all enjoyed. Service on the day was great and meals were good. Marked down as limited vegetarian choices for kids pizza and pasta only.
Very nice country pub. However, was really busy for a Sunday afternoon with a huge queue at the door! Therefore, we've preferred to have just drinks outside. Clean and tidy toilets, crowded car park. The prices were a bit to high but definitely worth it. I would recommend a booking in advance to avoid disappointment. The country side is awesome too
Table of 12 yesterday, including 3 children 11 and under and one infant. Made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived at a pretty busy time. Nothing too much trouble....food good , service very good. All staff great but especially a young lad called Holden. Thanks to all
Lovely place for a meal, a pleasant ambient atmosphere, staff very polite & presentable. Food was Delicious Camenber starter for two , we'll worth it , we had both fish dishes, sea bass & cod , Excellent service, felt very looked after , especially by our waitress "Paris" well done Flying Horse
First time visiting since the refurbishment. Impressed with the look of the restaurant. Kids menu choice not amazing. The chorizo and prawn linguine wasn’t as nice as before the refurb. Food took a very long time to come out which resulted in my 1 year old getting aggy and me having to feed him snacks from my bag which resulted in him not actually eating his food.
Wot a find, we had Sunday lunch here and all of our individual courses were an event in themselves, really well presented exciting cooking and all served by very friendly engaging staff. Can't wait to return. We'll done all concerned.Food: 5/5
First time I’ve visited the flying horse and I was impressed with the staff, service provided and of-course the food was amazing. My friend has a nut allergy and it was well taken care of and the service was spot on couldn’t find no faults. Parking: Loads of parking space
Excellent gastro-style pub with delightful decor! Delicious food & quality coffee. Great staff
