Lovely large campsite for caravans and backpackers. Probably the best campsite I've been to in the UK. The wardens welcomed us with a cuppa and a friendly smile, such a great gesture! Extremely quiet, had a wonderful good night sleep after setting up the tent by the river. Quick and easy access to the town centre and a good place to start hiking the Offa's Dyke path.
This is an absolutely delightful campsite. On the edge of the village it is wonderfully quiet. It is small and has clean and tidy basic facilities. You can pitch tent down by the river and listen to the water and birdsong. There are also pitches with electricity nearer the entrance. The people are pleasant and helpful. Absolutely charming.
This campsite is a little bit of paradise in a quaint little town! It’s on a little stream, it’s all level, the toilets and showers are ok but they’re really clean and maintained really well. The site is really nicely kept, short grass flowers etc, some electric hookup and some off grid places so you can choose to park up wherever you like, they’re not precious like some. But the owners/managers are the most welcoming and friendly people you could ever hope to meet! We were there on a hot and sunny bank holiday weekend and it was quiet and peaceful the whole time. We’re definitely coming back very soon - very relaxing!
We bring a big party to stay here every year and have been for years, and this campsite just gets better and better. We are always welcomed! The facilities are great, and there is a big co-op nearby, several decent pubs, and obviously some amazing walks. The stream beside the campsite is brilliant for cooling off in, both human and canine.
We had a great one night stay here whilst walking Offa’s Dyke. We camped right next to the river and it was really peaceful despite being so close to the town centre another plus point!. The campsite owner was friendly and welcoming, and the warden Dave is an asset to the site. He couldn’t have done more for us, even lending us some camp chairs which was a highlight after a long day of walking. Facilities were clean and the shower was hot. We felt safe and welcome here.
As a hiker on the Offa's Dyke Path this was a great campsite to visit. I arrived fairly exhausted and with quite a lot of wet gear. Paul and Sue, the site managers, couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. I was made a cup of tea and they brought over a camp chair for me to use. They insisted on drying my wet and rather smelly! gear in thier heated awning. The toilet facilities and shower are fine and kept very clean. The town is characterful and only a 5/10 minute walk away. There are plenty of restaurants and pub/bars. I was brought another tea in the morning before I set off. A very friendly site and my best camping experience on the entire walk!
Fantastic tent camp sites along flowing stream. Paul and Sue are wonderful hosts, helpful in everyway! My wife and I stayed overnight while hiking the Dyke. Very clean wash and bathroom facilities, and laundry facility was perfect for our hike!
Really lovely campsite. Great location near the river with delightful walks with the dogs. Facilities were very clean and all you need. Very peaceful site. Paul & Sue the wardens were very welcoming and helpful. Due to the weather, our motorhome did get a bit stuck - Paul & Sue saved the day along with another kind camper, Dave, pushing us out!! Super day at Hergest Croft Spring Fair on Monday which is 5 minutes away and worth a visit. We will return. Thank you!
Brilliant little campsite set alongside the river, very tranquil after a days hiking Offa’s Dyke. Paul and Sue went out of their way a make me feel welcome, and recommend the best eatery which turned out to be sound advice. They also went the extra mile when I needed a parcel sending on a bank holiday, they posted it on for me the following day. Service above and beyond and with a smile, you can’t beat it.
Can’t speak highly enough of this place; ideal location. Fantastic friendly hosts; beautiful grounds. I hope this is the first trip of many! Also brilliant showers & great facilities
