Found what I was looking for. Helpful staff, a lot of really good records.

Good selection of vinyl but generally overpriced. I visit every few weeks to browse because it's a nice place to kill some time, but I almost always leave empty handed knowing that I can usually find the same item somewhere else in similar condition but at a better price.

A very well put together record shop with two floors and good organization.

To be frank, your Crouch End branch is moribund. The last decent guy left to set up his own shop in Bermondsy, from what I can gather, some years ago, to be replaced with replicants, no sense of humour, no sense of anything, tbh., He was a nice guy, as opposed to the zombies that now work there. Christ, talk about personality bypasses? No social skills or anything, they just exude hostility. Euchh. The shop looks like it is about to give up the ghost. It exudes defeat. The staff don't seem to have a clue, or even care. I asked about the latest Burial release, not a complicated thing, I would have thought, but this was met with a baffled expression and, clearly, an attitude that exuded 'so-what'. Terrible stuff. I wasn't clear as to whether this guy knew who Burial even was. Your shop didn't have it, and, err..that was it...Christ, and this with a currently popular artist. Rubbish service, rubbish attitude, and I got the distinct impression that this shop was not long for this world, and was being run down. This might explain the staff's attitude, maybe,? I ran a record shop in the glory years of 1977-81. "Don't treat the punters as lesser species" is a lesson I soon learned, one in which the soon-to-be- unemployed shop assistants of Flashback will become familiar with. Adjoiner - 2 months later I was in this shop today and one of the staff felt that I had been a bit 'harsh' in my above review. I agree, and would like to send my apologies to ALL the staff at Flashback, Crouch End, if it sounded like I wanted them all be sacked. This is not the case, and I would NEVER wish this on any young person in today's terrible job market. I had a not-very-great record shop experience. Big deal, you might say. I did run a record shop from 1977-81, so tend to be a little sensitive when I receive what I consider to be below par service, which I certainly received on that day. However, we are lucky to have a record shop at all in cosy old Crouch End, and I do remember feeling some concern that the shop appeared to be rather 'run down'. The very last thing that I want is for this shop to close. As a regular customer to the shop, in its various guises, since 1992, I have always valued its presence, but I think what may have jaundiced my perception is the 'vinyl revival', which I consider just another cynical move by record companies to squeeze more money out of us. I particularly resent the way that CDs are now being sold at the price that they should have been in the first place, and that 50 year old vinyl albums are being sold for between 20 and 30 pounds (The Beatles records being only the most glaring example). The labels can hardly believe their luck, I'm sure! All this aside, I do NOT want to 'hex' the shop. It's a great facility, and we are lucky to have it. Check it out. Next to the new Waterstones, it represents an alternative to he current tyranny of screens. It is also a lesson to myself about the dangers of social media and rushed/ill-though out communication!!

The shop is tidy and it is easy to find the records you're looking for. The shop has really friendly helpful staff who will play things for you and have really good knowledge of music. They were also happy to admit when they didn't know the answers and would find out/ask other people rather than talking rubbish (as people in some places do). The atmosphere in the shop is very chilled. I spendt a really long time browsing and listening and could have spent a lot longer. I found the prices to be reasonable too and the selection of records is really interesting and diverse.
