I came here for a work lunch with my team. The Christmas dinner was tasty and perfect portion sizes for me. Mid range food and experience, worth a visit. Experience: 7.6/10 Experience / Price: 7.2/10

Nice appetizers, poor main dishes! We had blue cheese with chestnut tart and whiskey trout which were delicious and promising. Unfortunately main dishes : beef burger and cauliflower burger were below average- tasted like frozen ones. Also for my main I could not choose a medium cooked burger, waitress said all of them should had to be well done. Waiter was polite and attentive!

Higher end dining with a nice ribeye and sirloin. The place was very busy on a Thursday night, so I suggest reservations. The number of full tables stretched the wait staff and we had to wait a considerable time for the bill and refilla, etc. If you are near the open-view kitchen, it is rather warm. The food and atmosphere was excellent.

We were staying next door in The Flint, and whilst waiting to check in myself, and girlfriend stopped in for a lunch and drinks. The staff are so friendly and the food and drink was served quickly. It was delicious. I recommend the raspberry Tom Collins. Emma our server was a delight. Polite, friendly and great at her job.

American looking for a good steak. Flame was recommended. Very good chowder. Very very good steak and salad. Wait staff was wonderful. It's got an open kitchen. Kitchen staff looked harried and unprofessional yet the food was great

Disappointing /in addition to the owner response below, you were not so sorry when I mentioned it at the time. The staff were uninterested and apathetic I expected a better quality steak and presentation rather than it dropped in front of me and having to ask for a knife Do better.

I think I’ll start with the fact that the food here is outstanding. Upon booking a table, my friends and I didn’t really know what to expect... but we were very pleasantly surprised by the overall interior and vibe to the place! I thought the menu was great. I’m vegetarian and they had 3 substantial options. The chef recommended the Paneer & spinach curry and it was genuinely the nicest I’ve ever had. Bursting with flavour. Really impressed. One thing that stood out was one of the Chefs, Anita, who I noticed watching us eat the first bite of our food. I looked at her and said it tasted so good, and with a big smile she said she loves to see people’s first reaction to eating what she has prepared. This really stood out to me as a chef who is passionate about her job and the food she makes, and I thought it was really nice. Thanks Anita! Everyone else really enjoyed their food, and we got desert too! The young girl looking after our table, Saskia, was incredibly nice and really chatty. She made the overall experience more enjoyable! Despite all the above, we unfortunately had to ask 4 separate times to get water for the table. This was very frustrating as each staff member said they would get it straight away, but they didn’t! It got to the point that I had to get up from the table and go ask directly at the bar for it. Furthermore, majority of the staff were not wearing their face masks properly, and had them under their chin. What’s more is that absolutely no one working in the kitchen which is open plan and close to customer tables was wearing a mask. This was disappointing to see and made me feel a bit uncomfortable given the current circumstances. For these reasons I can only give 4/5 stars! I would definitely return to this restaurant, however, I would hope to see the covid regulations taken a bit more seriously!

Hadn’t been here for years my GF book it for lunch…. What a wonderful surprise… the staff were courteous, friendly and efficient. The food was imaginative, creativity presented and absolutely delicious. It’s extremely rare that we don’t have some sort of complaint about something.. Flame was exceptional … I recommend it without hesitation. Wine list is good perhaps a little in the expensive side!

Family Birthday meal for my Sons 30th last Night. Congratulations to Sarah Jane and the team. Excellent evening. Very attentive staff, excellent service and excellent food. Great atmosphere in the restaurant. Vibrant and buzzing. Special thanks to James our dedicated server. Fabulous service and a great sense of humour. Thanks again. Would recommend this spot to absolutely anyone. Try it and be pleasantly surprised. Well done to all.
