We didn't stay at this hotel but went in for some food. We eat from the pub menu and the food was ok though the service could have been better, I only say this because it was relatively quiet when we were there and we had to wait a while on our order and then there seemed to be some confusion with it, and when it was delivered it wasn't correct. The menu wasn't large and served basic pub fair so it left us a bit perplexed. However this is just a review on the menu that we eat from. Maybe the menu and service in the main restaurant is a different affair. The hotel itself was a bit dated but had lots of charm and the staff were friendly. Great location.

Seems like a great hotel. Spacious, comfortable, very clean. Pleasant welcoming staff who are very helpful if you need them to be. Very nicely situated on a good road for walking around because of some great shops, churches, and the local railway station. The variety and beauty of all the trees in the area has to be seen to be believed!

Big let down on no parking spaces available with staff suggesting we just need to pay for the public parking throughout the stay. The minute I suggested it is an issue and not really what I expected the member of staff changed their attitude completely. Ended up just being given a key and brief directions to our room when a person beside was offered a welcome drink and a lovely 'enjoy your stay'.

Stayed as part of a murder mystery weekend booked through Itison. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Brian the manager, who I can't commend highly enough. The decor in the public rooms was beautiful and our room was lovely with a huge and comfortable bed. The food, dinner and breakfast, was excellent. The Fawlty Towers murder mystery dinner was just the best ever. Fantastic cast and very entertaining....definitely worth seeing.

Lovely break from home. Staff were kind and accommodating. Great location and huge room. We attended on a DBB deal and food on offer exceeded our expectations. Definitely be back
