This was a beautiful and peaceful place to stop for a meal. Great scenery with the bridge and the fast flowing river. (Apparently it was here that the song "Bridge over troubled water" was written by Simon and Garfunkel. The staff were very friendly and there was a large choice of food. We enjoyed the Cot vegetarian burger, the avocado, feta and pomegranate seeds dish with chicken and the fish and chips. Each dish was delicious!

We agreed this was the best place we have ever stayed. The staff were amazing and friendly. The food was fantastic. The room was clean and very comfortable. Room 6 where art garfunkle stayed!! The owners were so friendly it really did make our weekend away really good. We would highly recommend staying here especially for the beautiful surroundings but also to be made to feel really welcome.

Everything about our brief stay here was fantastic. We arrived late in the evening with our two children for an overnight stay and despite the mix up with the booking (due to the hotel booking website) they went out of their way to accommodate us. Every member of staff in the pub and the hotel was friendly, efficient and professional. While we waited for our room to be ready (which took no time at all) the manager Juanita from the hotel arranged drinks for us in the pub and we enjoyed some tasty freshly cooked cheese straws. The room was clean and cosy with a nice big bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and the room was nice and quiet. Breakfast the next day was delicious with a continental buffet with everything you could think of available followed by a full English breakfast. The children had a stack of pancakes and as a vegetarian I was impressed with the availability of veggie sausages. They also offer eggs Benedict which I would be tempted to try next time. I would definitely return for a longer stay as it would make a great location for touring the local area. The Inn sits next to the river which I imagine would be a lovely place to enjoy in the summer. I cannot fault it here.

I'm vegan so it's mostly very difficult to come across a rich menu catered for people like myself. Fisherman's Cot does have 3 options (when I last visited a couple of weeks back) but only 1 of those is a main. Otherwise the staff are very friendly and the service is brilliant. My family and friends who go there enjoy the food so it's definitely worth a punt!

Met family for a present swap Christmas lunch. The whole place was warm. Staff provided a very warm and friendly welcome, which followed on throughout the service of the meal. Food also well presented and tasty - turkey, salmon and nut roast. Also, best Christmas pudding you could ask for. I could taste the brandy😊. Well done.
