Best fish and chips and pies in the whole of Colchester, better than any restaurant in the area. Been going there for 5 years and it is always consistent with amazing quality. Went tonight and although they didn't have 2 pies they accommodated us with fish no extra charge. Staff always friendly and smiling even though they were extremely busy. Kid-friendliness: Great portions .
Not had fish n chips in a while so was looking forward to a treat. But Should of gone elsewhere. The food is not like it used to be here , we had dry tasteless chips, burnt pie and after taking a bite of the battered sausage realised it was still pink inside! No wonder no one else was in there at tea-time!
Used to be a very good chip shop, last night's experiance has put me off going there again. I ordered jumbo sausage in batter and chips, bur i think they had 'jedward' serving and endered up with a 'very' small portion of chipswhich tasted awful and a rather anemic sausuage in hardly any batter. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY IN THIS OUTLET.
Went there tonight and they offer half chicken and chips £4.99 on a Wednesday but tonight there was NO Chickens at all. So had haddock and chips and sausage in batter and chips. When I got home the chips where so bad they where rotten some where hard as well and the chips with the sausage in batter only 10 chips could be eaten What a waste of money the 4 lads that where there had NO customer service skills they where just talking and no care for service This was my local chippy but not anymore I will go else where Manager really needs to take control and get the lads more trained on customer service I will now let my friends and family know and tell them to go else where
Worst chippy ever, as the chips are always dry like they been left for hours and they are pale. You can't even tell if they have been fried in oil, that's how dry they are. Real chips should be crispy on the outside and soft like mash on the inside.
Haven’t been here in a long time and use to be my wife’s favourite. Very disappointed this time round, especially spending over £50. Half chips were cold and the cod obviously wasn’t fresh. Kids meal sausage was like rubber and had to throw away. Looks like I’ll be cooking later.
The best fish and chips in Colchester. My opinion..... love their packaging. Quality ingredients cooked perfectly.
Worst chips ever and extremely expensive. No wonder I was the only customer at lunchtime.
To start was a very good chippy but last couple of experiences have been upsetting by not listening to what customer wants by getting order wrong and no care for customer service, hope it goes right for next customer because I am not doing anymore
Absolutely solid chippy, and lovely staff/owners - definitely try it! I've been here numerous times now, they have the classic selection you'd expect from a chip shop, plus occasional seasonal extras E.g. Pigs in blankets. They also have a delicious vegan burger for those so inclined. The staff have always been extremely nice, cheerful and attentive. Lovely food, great people - what's not to love?
