Excellent fish and chips in Manchester city centre. Take out and also eat-in with seating upstairs - everywhere was clean and tidy. The food was very good. The chips were crisp and dry with a lovely thick piece of fish with a thin crisp batter. Traditional mushy peas made it complete. Recommended!
After going to the Museum of Science and Industry on a visit to Manchester we really fancied some "proper chips". A nice lady at the museum told us that there's a chippy nearby. Wow what a find! This chip shop is very much like one you'd find on a sea front. Plenty of seating inside on two levels and very clean with charming black and white pics from days gone by adorning the walls. It felt like a nice family atmosphere. I did ask for my peas and curry sauce to be put on top of my chips- you can get them in separate pots by the way. The staff were very friendly and professional. My ten year old said that these were the best chips he'd had in his life, I think they're a close level-pegging with something you'd get at somewhere like Scarborough. We'll definitely go here again next time we're in Manchester. RECOMMENDED :
Service was quick and friendly, the chips and gravy were good. Curry is ok but it didn't really have flavour. batter is bad, very dry, hard and flavourless. Fish was fine but bland and ruined by the batter. Sausages are alright but again batter is very poor.Food: 2/5
A very tasty and flaky fish. Huge portion sizes and home made chips. The only minus is that the chips and fish was a little "mushy".
Fish was overcooked - they need to be making fresh to order, otherwise the quality just plummets. Also, the fish had little taste to it. Chips were decent. I am really surprised with some of the 5 star reviews if this is what they serve, so maybe my poor experience was a one off but for what it cost I won’t be returning to give another chance.
Best fish and chip shop in Manchester! Delicious fish, sausage and chips! The owner is also sooo friendly and always remembers us when we go each time and chats to us. Food and service will put a big smile on your face. Highly recommend!
Bad… Chips were cold, fish was stale and batter was bad. Try it at your own risk.
Been ordering from The Fish Hut for many years. It’s very good value for money considering it is in the city centre. The fish is always large and flavoursome, the tray is packed full of chips, curry sauce and gravy are great and the sausage is tasty too. The staff are always warm and friendly considering it can get very busy. The chips are a little on the soggy side but personally I love that. A real chippy.
First time in Manchester. Was wandering around and found The Fish Hut. Great fish and chips. Quick takeaway with two floors of quaint indoor dining. Huge portion!
I was pass by this shop plenty times ,and last week I had opportunity to taste their food. Well it was absolutely delicious fish. The portion size was massive I couldn't finish with it. The Fish Hut is the best fish&chips shope in town. I recommend to everyone.
