Our award-winning 4,500 sq ft flooring showroom retails wood, carpet, laminate, luxury vinyl and rugs from the UK's top brands. We have a coffee bar, kid's play area, full fitting service, 0% finance and price match guarantee. Est. 1994.

Story

First Floors is an award-winning flooring showroom located in Glasgow's southside, and has been established for over 22 years providing laminate, solid and engineered flooring, carpet and rugs in Glasgow and Ayrshire. Our 3,500 square foot showroom has major household name brands and some lesser known flooring products as well as a children's play area and coffee bar.

We also now provide a floor sanding service.

We pride ourselves on our high standards, value for money and fast, efficient service. We keep up to date with all of the new flooring trends and developments, and the latest products whilst being environmentally aware.

We have qualified, professional and reliable fitters who work solely for First Floors. We keep up-to-date on the latest hardwood, carpet, engineered and laminate flooring trends and developments, and the information and advice we give to our customers who seek wood flooring services in Glasgow reflects this.

We can supply flooring from all UK and overseas manufacturers and work closely with Amtico, Karndean, Moduleo, Quickstep, Mansion House, Ryalux, Alternative Flooring, Westex, iSense, Abingdon, Ulster and Britons to name a few.

Our customers are from Glasgow, Ayrshire and beyond, and our fitters are willing to travel to install flooring. If you’re looking for supply only, please give us a call.

First Floors were extremely friendly, professional and accommodating. The installers were quick and effective. When I was visiting their shop, they even matched a competitors price! I highly recommend going to First Floors for your flooring needs.
My brother used First Floors to fit both carpets and hard floors when renovating his house and was highly satisfied with the result. Not surprisingly I decided to try them on a similar renovation of mine. In all they fitted three bedrooms, one lounge/diningroom and the hall with good quality carpets with an equally excellent result - all on schedule and all to budget. They also fitted good quality lino to an ensuite and a bathroom. But it is their most recent work, on part of my sunlounge, which has prompted me to send in this review. The original renovation required that access to a cellar be by trapdoor and steps with a resulting disruption to the hard floor there. First Floors devised an excellent solution which not only looks good but will protect the edges for years to come. Their very skilled fitter, Frank, did the job in two days and we are delighted with the result. Needless to say First Floors have several fitting teams and we have found them all to be good.
Another Great Job Done!! Just had our third floor project in seven years completed by First Floors once again. Great service from David and his showroom team from assisting in the selection of materials through to arranging the installation. Chris and his team worked tidily and efficiently on the hardwood flooring with great attention to detail. Gordon who fitted the stair carpet was very professional in his work and was able to resolve some problematic details to our entire satisfaction. Would definitely recommend First Floors.
I chose this company based on the positive reviews I read here. It was definitely a good decision. I was happy with the service from the beginning to the end. When I came to the showroom Graeme was very helpful. He explained to me all the differences between different types of floors and how they are fitted. He gave me an estimate of the costs just to have an idea. He arranged for another person to come to my house and measure the floors for an exact quote. Graeme asked his colleague to also bring the samples as I did not have a car and could not borrow them when I was in the showroom. The floors were fitted in the next 3 weeks. Fraser who fitted the floors was a very nice guy and did a good job. He also cleaned all the mess. I love the new floors in my living room and hallway. I recommend this company to everyone. Also, they offer a large variety of floors and colours. I plan to change my carpets later this summer and will happily do it with First Floors again. Thank you :
First Flooring were very helpful and professional from day one. The service and advise from the sales team was impeccable, as was the fitting team that came to carry out the fitting of flooring as they were very clean and tidy tradesmen. I would very much recommend.
I would throughly recommend First Floors. From the really helpful and straightforward ordering process in the showroom with David including going the extra mile to get my flooring fitted in time for a special event to the friendly, professional and skilled fitting service., everything ran so smoothly. I’m delighted with the new flooring, which has transformed my flat. I think the fact they are a local small business made all the difference.
We visited First Floors after they were recommended by a friend. We met Graeme who was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and who spent a lot of time with us. We decided to have one of the team out to measure up the following week. After the guy didn’t turn up I called the shop to chase him up. Eventually I got a call from him and was given a poor excuse. He asked me if I wanted to cancel the appointment. I said no and he eventually made it to us some 2 to 3 hours later than originally booked. It was the quickest measure up I have experienced. We went back in to see Graeme and got the quote. Again Graeme was excellent and we went ahead with the purchase. Graeme called me as agreed once the flooring was in stock to arrange fitting. I called the shop the day before to get an approximate time of fitting the following day. I was promised a call back which didn’t happen. The fitter turned up at lunchtime and proceeded with the install. After he left I inspected the job and found the finish to be extremely poor. We paid over £1000 for LVT to be fitted in a small hall and cupboard and expected a quality finish. We were extremely disappointed. Recommended by Graeme, we had paid £100 for skirtings to be removed and the flooring placed under. The skirtings were very poorly fitted back. The fitting/finishing round the radiator was shocking, round the stairs was also poor. The fitter had actually cut in to one of the planks when cutting it for round the stairs and just went ahead and fitted it. The finish in the hall cupboard was also poor. I called the shop the next day to complain about the fitting. I spoke to David who arranged for the Contracts Manager to come out a couple of days later. He duly came and pointed out a few things that needed done to improve the look of the finish and also promised to rectify the issues we had highlighted. Two weeks later I am still waiting to be contacted by the team to come and rectify the issues. We have got so fed up we have taken to rectifying the issues ourselves. We went to First Floors on a recommendation. Service from Graeme was excellent but everything else was poor. We decided to support a local business and probably paid a bit more for our flooring in doing so. We will not be returning. First Floors need to work on auditing the work of the sub contracted fitters and their after sales service.
Fantastic, competent and enthusiastic customer service. Clearly extremely experienced in all aspects of flooring and so accommodating. They were particularly accommodating with us when we had a tough time limit to work to. Excellent fitting and worked to a high standard. Really delighted with every aspect of our experience. Would definitely recommend highly to others!
Overall a great experience. We are really happy with our flooring. From first visiting the store and meeting with Graeme to the boys who fitted the flooring; all very attentive and efficient. We will use them again in the future and would recommend.
I honestly couldn’t recommend First Floors enough. They have excellent flooring and offer a gold standard service. They are patient and kind and offer endless advice. The actual fitting was brilliant and we absolutely love the finished product! We picked a CoreTec floor & it looks super high quality. At the shop itself, both Davids and Graham are honestly top class. Would 100% recommend.
