As a garage who use First Auto for 99% of our customers requiring a loan I've found them excellent. Finance proposals are dealt with promptly and the staff are always friendly on the phone. Our Rep (Mark Kavanagh) has always gone above and beyond the call of duty to help get things over the line.

I've read less favourable reviews but my experience has always been positive.

Dealing with the company as an SME is basically like being in a shop having tried on some clothes going to make the purchase and been told we have enough customers we don't want any more customers.

I am not one for writing on social media or to complain for that matter but in this case the mistreatment and complete waste of my time has left me with no choice but to write my 1st ever bad review.

I am the proud owner of Inclusive Car Sales based in Parkwest, Dublin 12 supplying high quality used vehicles to the public.
I was excited to become a credit intermediate as I have a thriving customer base requesting finance options on a regular basis.

When I first made contact with First Auto Finance,  I was dealing with the "New Business Manager" over a period of 6 weeks regarding setting my company up as a credit intermediate. I received a reply (not a very friendly or welcoming one!) with the application forms and was requested to return them including my Income Tax Clearance Certificate, company accounts, copy of my cheque book etc.

I emailed 2 weeks ago to check on the status of my application, I was told my application was waiting on a Committee to sit at the end of the month (September) where they would make the final decision.

On 5th October I still hadn't received any confirmation so I decided to email the "New Business Manager", I received an email back stating I had been unsuccessful.

I was quite shocked by this as I feel I meet all the criteria and I know my credit rating is 100% so with this in mind i emailed back to ask for the reason why and also if there is an appeals procedure in place.

The email I received back in a nutshell "the Committee don't give reasons" completely disregarding my question of an appeals procedure. I emailed again as I was keen to appeal, again no reply!

The following morning I emailed the Managing Director and expressed my negative experience with the company and requested to know the reason for refusal and AGAIN their appeals procedure. Below is an extract from the email I received back from the MD: 

Many thanks for your email. Quite simply we are not recruiting new dealers at present.
We are at capacity and our priority is to provide class leading service to our existing suppliers.
Thank you for your interest and should are situation change we will contact you.

As you can see from the response I received First Auto Finance they are not 'recruiting new dealers at present' but yet can waste 6 weeks of my time and have me send over all my personal information if this company had no intention of doing business with me in the foreseeable future. Did the Committee waste their time and sit discussing my application knowing you are not 'recruiting'?

As you can see the above tells all if you are a dealer weather big or small to avoid this company!
