Despite being totally packed out and late in the afternoon they still managed to serve beautiful roast dinners with 6 different freshly cooked vegetables. Beer was good too ! Book if you want a seat to eat I think the secrets out about how good this place is !!!
This used to be our favourite for a mid week, Or Sunday lunch. Unfortunately the past couple of times have let us down. The food has gone downhill, The roast potatoes taste re heated, And haven't been at all crispy. Our usual favourite is the pie. Today, My partner ordered this, Being told that it's chicken and ham with cheese, I've attached a photo, It was over full with sandwich slices of chicken and ham, and far too much cheese, No sauce. This is a shame, As the usual pie is nice chunks of meat with creamy sauce. We spoke to whom I believe is the manager, She said this is roast ham and turkey we was told chicken before pie, We wasn't told this pie would just be sliced meat in a slab. The manager seemed to think this is normal, Though we've never seen a pie made this way. It was more like left overs from Christmas, being re used, Huge fail as it didn't work. The photo shows how unappetising this was.
This place was always very good for a Sunday roast and this did not disappoint at not being able to get there due to covid19 however the normal excellent service wasn't there, don't know if it was the kitchen couldn't cope of they were just understaffed. However I'm sure the management will pull it all back together. The roast dinner is the best around in my opinion. .
Delicious food and great service. Best onion rings and Apple and Pear crumble I've had in years. Everyone really enjoyed their meals good selection, they looked amazing. Staff were accommodating and helpful suggestions for drinks and meals.
Went here today with my family and two dogs. One of my dogs has a little sign on his lead asking for space. The staff here could not have been kinder and more helpful. Straight away I was asked if I wanted to move our table to a quieter spot for him. I personally think this is going above and beyond, and was a really kind gesture. Our meal was delicious with lovely big portion sizes. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxed and all members of staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.
It was a very friendly and well kept pub. We were made welcome and the staff were very friendly, polite and cheerful. The food was delicious, so much so that we went for the 3 courses. This pub is now on my list of treasures.
Reasonable food, but I think the prices were a bit expensive for the portion sizes. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff though

The food was spot on as usual, with friendly and attentive staff. Very friendly and welcoming. If all you want is a drink then they have plenty to choose from.
A few of us went there a few Sundays ago we didn’t book but they did accommodate us and managed to fit us in the bar area we came from Manchester so our first time there, we had a lovely woman look after us I think her name was Kirsty she was very welcoming and we gave her some stick but in a good way she held her own we had banter with her and she gave it back it was such a fun afternoon we had a laugh and also the food was amazing we will definitely be back it was a good atmosphere and staff were so friendly but thank Kirsty for us for taking care of us and having a laugh with us we left her a tip and she deserved that we also told her to have our deposit as a tip she said it goes into a pot for all staff but please make sure she gets herself a drink she really did make our afternoon and tell the chef the food was amazing Thanks again see you soon
