Getting an appointment is impossible unless you book three weeks in advance ( even to see a nurse never mind a doctor). I paid for injections a three course ( quite happy to take your money ) go to book third injection they have none of the injection! Book a doctors appointment soonest you can get in is three weeks, day before appointment come home to a letter saying it's cancelled not even a phone call , this has happened twice in 6 months , my previous surgery I was with 30 years never cancelled an appointment ! How this surgery is allowed to open its doors to the public is beyond me !

After moving cities and visiting the surgery once I was extremely dissappointed with the doctor I saw. They struck me as unprofessional and awkward which made me feel very uncomfortable.I found the male receptionist I spoke with to be cold mannered and he made me feel like I was being an annoyance trying to enquire about a repeat prescription. I have tried to make an appointment this morning but unfortunately the only doctor available is the one I experienced before.

I have been here since I was a baby but left today at the age of 27. I have been ill over the past couple of years and getting an appointment here has become absolutely impossible. If you aren't on the phone at half 8 you have no chance, but often the phone lines are jammed all day. As someone who works full time this clearly favours elderly patients, as I cannot ask my employer for an indefinite amount of time away from my desk. I have had to instead go up to the walk in centre around 10 times in the past year, each time with a wait of around 3-4 hours. Even asking for a repeat prescription is difficult because of the phone lines. When you actually do get through, if you do, you are asked if it's an emergency. On one occasion it was and I said yes. The phone operator audibly did not believe me, how they are qualified I have no idea, so when I walked into the GPs office I was treated to a lecture by my doctor rather than being asked what was wrong. When I explained they were very applogetic, they were obviously mislead by a jobsworth receptionist. I recently called for a sick note as I needed one for being off work due to an operation. The gentleman could not have made this sound more of a chore if he tried and did not even ask me what my illness was he was so desperate to get me off the phone. When I evetually got it (after being messd around and being told it was ready when it wasn't) the note was incorrect but luckily my employer accepted it anyway. Since my operation I have been visited by a district nurse and attended daily or every other day appointments to get my dressings changed. I stayed with family immediately after my op and so was with another gp practice for this. When I came home i walled into the gp surgery to ask to be given appointments here. They offered me three appintments, starting in 3 weeks time and told me I would have to go to walk in centre until then. I told them to stick it, that was the final straw, walked into a nearby gp practice and was inmediately offered regular nurse appintments by a professional team who knew what they are doing. Fell cottage is an absolute mess and nothing like it used to be. Elderly patients are given priority wheras young working patients are not given the time of day.

Best surgery I've ever been too. Attended since being a baby had to leave due to location when the new health centre opened. Can not fault any of the staff here especially Dr Bryson. Her professionalism and empathetic manner is above and beyond any GP I have ever met.
