Huge park with great facilities including: a large lake where people can fish and a boating lake. A large kids playground with a kids water fountain. Lots of space for picnics and paths for walks, cycling and dog walking. Loads of wildlife to view too. Many free car parks with ample space to park. All within a short walk of the town centre.
Beautiful scenery on this sunny January day. Nice little cafe serving a good selection of food and drink. Toilets needed a good clean and restocking of toilet roll and hand soap.
This is our favourite park. Their facilities, the cozy cafe, with the best ice cream in Stevenage, their well kept playgrounds and the wildlife, make this park one of the best around.
Lovely peaceful walk with my dog, lots of fisherman, families, joggers, cyclists and walkers enjoying the park. There is a well stocked Cafe on site serving hot/cold drinks and snacks. Dog allowed outside the cafe in seating area, friendly staff.
I took my children here for a visit to use the splash park. Unfortunately it was closed even though I checked the website which stated it was open. Never mind. We feed the birds and took a walk around the lakes which was beautiful with all the wildlife. The kids played at the park which they enjoyed. We visited the cafe for ice cream. The ladies there offered brilliant customer service even though they were very busy. I saw two people litter picking whilst i was there so it was very clean at the time. I love this place I think it is the best attraction we have in Stevenage. Would of given it 5 stars but a little bit miffed at the splash park being closed.
Lovely park with amazing views, nice café, a play area and a peaceful walk around!
Beautiful place within the town, good for cycling, walking, also available are pedalos. Lots of green space for picnics and a place to just sit. Near the play ground is also a splash pool this is only open certain times check their website for days/times
Beautiful Park and amazing scenic that never gets old! Plenty of things to do for the kids and to spend time lien Playgrounds, wildlife, lakes... Stunning place to relax with family and children and for casual visit as well
Fairlands park turns 50 this autumn and is looking good for its age! This large town park looks especially attractive in the autumn with lots of colour in the trees. Many trees were planted in the early days of the park. Others are from older hedgerows and farmland planting - how the land was used before becoming the town park. The park sits in a valley with a series of three lakes. The lakes have a different characters with one for boating, while at the opposite end a lake focused on nature and birdlife. The lakes and natural vegetation attract quite a bit of wildlife including grebes, cormorants, Egyptian geese, as well as many woodland birds. The paths are surfaced so its ideal for buggies and all levels of mobility. There are no flower beds or gardens as such - apart from a small 'maze' near the car parks and some colourful dogwoods and willows with red and green stems. There is a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating and toilets by the middle lake.
Lovely place to go for a walk and enjoy nature in Stevenage - saw lots of squirrels and gorgeous autumn leaves
