Fair Deal Autos

I have used Fair Deal Autos twice. My first experience went well with the garage fixing my car’s brake pads/discs and callipers so I returned to have my MOT done. While there my car as expected failed its MOT and I required two new tyres, which they replaced and I left to move to Aberdeenshire from Edinburgh. However, just over a week later one of my new tyres was completely flat and the other close to flat. I phoned the garage and was told to bring the car back to the garage where they would have a look and if it was their fault fix it for free! However, I informed them I was now up in rural Aberdeenshire and so although this would be good if I was in Edinburgh it was not good given I live 123miles away. We agreed that I would take it to my local garage and have them look at it and then decide where to go from there. Having done this it was discovered my valves were leaking due to the valve not being changed when the new tyre was put on. I spoke to my local garage and surrounding garages who informed me that a tyre change includes the change of the valve, with the type of valve on my mini. Which they did not do and I believe they rushed the job and cut corners. Arthur from Fair Deals Autos was helpful and informed me he had a contact in Aberdeen who could carry out the repair for £10. This would be perfect if I lived in Aberdeen, but as I had previously explained to Arthur Aberdeen is a 60 mile round trip and fuel alone would cost more than £10, not including that I would need to take a day off work. And so, I offered if Arthur paid for my fuel to drive to Aberdeen or Edinburgh I would have it fixed at his garage or his contacts. Now two weeks from having my tyres originally fixed and getting slightly fed up with Fair Deal Autos for not fitting my tyres to allow me to use my car as expected I had it fixed locally. This cost me £48.50, and would have been cheaper than me driving into Aberdeen or down to Edinburgh especially with the recent diesel prices! I asked Arthur to pay for this further work I had to have done due to his garage’s half finished job. Arthur offered me a £50 credit for his garage, and had I been living in Edinburgh this would be perfect, however as mentioned I now live in Aberdeenshire. Arthur understood this and refunded £48.50 to my bank account. I personally will not return to Fair Deal Autos as this process took 3 weeks to reach an agreement. Had I not been on my summer holidays from teaching I would not have had the time to deal with all of this and would have had to wrongfully pay an extra £50 for a fault that should never have happened. However, Arthur transferred me £48.50 to cover the cost and I appreciate that.Services: Vehicle safety inspection

Absolutely delighted with the service I received. Very hard to find a honest trustworthy garage. I was even explained properly the problem I had with my car & options I can take to sort it. This is the best garage out there. I have been using them for almost 12 years. Multiple cars, multiple issues sorted over the years car services, wheel bearing, brake pads, disk, brake calipers, parking brake replacement, winter safety check, engine issues, bulbs, AC, MOT. Always best prices offered without haggling. I never even consider taking my car anywhere else.

My MOT was slotted in at short notice which was great, new tyres fitted as I knew it needed without fuss. It was a Saturday though and I wasn't aware they close early and any extra work may not have been completed that day. Guess that could be the case with lengthy repairs at any garage during the week too. This was the case but they kept me informed and then stayed a few minutes late on the Monday evening so I could bus it back after work to pick up the car. Over all happy with the service.

Ordered a tyre of black circles to be fitted today. I specifically phoned the garage in the morning to confirm my appointment. I was assured everything’s in place and to come in at any time. I arrive and wait for about 30 mins at which point I am informed that the tyre is in fact not there. Poor communication after paying a substantial amount for the service. At the very least this should’ve been communicated to me when I called this morning!! Wasted half of my day, I am totally disappointed and will not be using this garage again.

I have used fair deal Autos in the past to get my car tyres changed as they were one recommended by a friend of mine to use their services when it comes to changing tyres . I had a ford fiesta car for which I needed to change one of the tyres as it was worn out and needed changing for the car to pass MOT .They changed the tyre and I drove home and took my car to a garage closer to my home to get the MOT done . I was shocked to receive a call from the garage that my Car has failed the MOT test because the most new looking tyre I got replaced was of wrong type / number that has been fitted . I asked the garage to put in the right tyre and complete the MOT test . I went back to fair deal Autos to hand them back the wrong tyre they fitted on my car and told them to refund the money . They refused to refund but instead they said they will update their system with our account in credit and that they will replace our tyre in future in lieu of the wrong tyre they put on my car which led to my car failing MOT. In the meantime I sold my car and bought a Nissan Qashqai car and went back to the garage to get one of the tyre replaced . They replaced the tyre and asked be pay whopping £89 but I asked him to look up on his system by giving the ref number of my old car and reminded him that he owes me money for a tyre I had returned after finding out they fitted the wrong one . To my absolute shock I was asked to produce a receipt or a note to which I reminded the owner of this garage that he had not given us any receipt after we returned the tyre as he had then suggested he shall update his system with a credit note to which he Simply responded by saying this happened in 2019 and it’s too late to get money refunded . This is shocking to say the least as I was dumbfounded by his logic that he will not adjust the invoice by the amount he owes me . I am astounded by their complete lack of morality ,ethics & integrity .The owner of this garage has no empathy and has no customer service credentials .These guys needs to be rapped on their knuckles based on how they are running their business to cheat & fraud it’s own customers . I would be happy if at-least 5 people read this And avoid this “Un Fair deal Auto” garage from using any of their services . Never trust them when they say they have updated their system to apply credit on your account should you land in a similar situation like me . I could read the dishonesty and greed writ large on the man who is the owner of this garage .

One of the vehicles required an MOT and had a suspension issue that needed finished quickly. Even in an obviously busy time, job was completed pquickly and now back on the road. Returning to get less pressing issues fixed and would highly recommend for speed and professionalism.Services: Steering & suspension repair

I had my clutch replaced at Fairdeal autos last week and was very happy with the price compared to another garage “farmer autocare” which was more than double the price for the same job. Reception lady was very lovely also.Service: General repairs & maintenance
