Friendly staff, excellent food we had sashimi prawn, tuna, salmon sushi, tempura prawns, chilli squid, curry and steamed beef buns. Everything was delicious. On a Scottish cloudy day this food was so colourful and well presented. Thumbs up for chef and Kelly who delivered it to our table. Cheers to all!
What a feast! The team at Fabric went above and beyond for us. Really grateful for outstanding service from Bethany and kitchen team. It made our family gathering so special. You're the best!
Sadly not the best experience. The place has a nice vibe and lovely staff. Shame the food is not up to standard. We ordered fish and chips and a chicken burger. Both came with 6 chips each! The food was presented nicely but did not taste great. Fish was not fresh, it had a horrible after taste and the chicken burger was very dry. The panacota- which looked great- did not taste great either! It's a real shame that such a nice place does not have nice food :

Ordered food for delivery for the first time, one of the things - ramen. Got it delivered on time, the minute the poor delivery guy took it out of the bag PIPING HOT it spilled all over my feet. I cannot possibly put into words how painful this was. Not only we didn’t get our food, I’m on the way to the hospital with burns. Probably consider using different package especially when serving piping hot liquids???
Fabulous meal tonight despite a power cut. Dougie was the perfect host and ran the place superbly. Our starters, chilli mushrooms & tempura prawns were beautifully cooked & so tasty. Then just a few minutes before our mains were due to arrive, bang the whole place went into darkness. A power cut affecting a large proportion of Dunfermline city centre. Not a moment of panic, just a reassuring 'we're looking into it'. The inventive lady behind the bar rigged up her phone torch and carried on, then brought out the candles. Having resigned ourselves to a shortened meal, we were delighted when our food arrived. Salmon Terriyaki Soba & Chicken Paitan Ramen. More generous portions, as with the starters, and mind-blowing tasty. So Valentine's weekend and a surprise candlelight dinner. £60 for two courses and two rounds of soft drinks - the cocktails looked fabulous and my Elderflower Sherbett mocktail was beautiful. Great food, great drinks, amazing staff and fab value for money. If coming at the weekend for food or drinks we'd advise booking, the place was so busy. We will 100% be back. So much more on the menu to try.
Would give only one star if I could, but the food is five stars, so it'll sit at a two. Fantastic food, fantastic wait and bar staff, absolutely terrible management. It's literally impossible to get ahold of a supervisor or a manager, so don't expect to be able to speak to one just because it's open. Also a caution, if you ordered on or around Nov 14th 2022, check your bank details to see if your card was double charged. Money was taken out of my account two days after I had dinner there, it was also taken on the night. No issues my end, but was made to feel like I was perhaps at fault or had "lost my card", it was on my person's the entire time. I wonder if they would be accusing a nicer older couple with the same tone and dismissal as they did with me? It then took me 8 HOURS of waiting for a manager or supervisor to talk to, to rectify this issue, costing me my time, and with no real apology from the manager at the sister location whom I dealt with, friendly enough if not completely unphased by this. I didn't even get to speak to someone in person! It was all done over a waitresses phone! Again , no real apology or compensation. There was no one else apparently. At least after 8 hours of trying I got my money back, but no compensation for wasting my time and seemingly not caring at all. You couldn't have offered 5% off next purchase? Standard practice?The one waitress was an absolute sweetheart but it seemed like no one could care less, which made me feel horrible. I've never had to post a bad review before. I hate doing this, but other customers need to be aware for the potential of their money being taken wrongfully from their accounts with little to no care by management. This was incredibly stressful for me and had me in tears at home. So, after being caused a headache during what was already a stressful week, I'm reluctant to ever go back. The only problem is the food is divine. Fantastic, masterfully created, and leaves you patient enough for 8 hours of run around, hoping for another bite. My advice to anyone wanting to dine here: Use cash instead, or expect to have your day wasted for no real good enough reason.
Poor packaging for takeaway food as the vegetables with soy sauce didn't cover well making paper bag broken. But the staff still rudely explained it's not their problem. It's not their first time to have this problem regarding the previous reviews. So, no improvement at all.
Visited tonight with couple of friends who lived in Japan: food was tasty, service was excellent, love the sandstone antiquity of the building juxtaposed to the Abbey. Lovely evening, thank you.
